Man detained at Kirk memorial site was allegedly found with gun, knife and expired credentials inside stadium

Arizona officials announced charges Saturday against the man the Secret Service allegedly caught carrying a gun and a knife inside State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Friday. 

The stadium is where Charlie Kirk’s memorial event is set to take place Sunday. Joshua Runkles was identified Saturday by the Arizona Department of Public Safety as the armed individual. He was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer – a felony – and carrying a weapon into a prohibited place, which is a misdemeanor. 

Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi previously said the man was detained "in the stadium, but it was prior to the setup of any secure perimeter." 

The individual allegedly told Secret Service agents that he was at the site to provide private security, The Washington Post also reported, citing a law enforcement official familiar with the matter. 

A federal source familiar with the investigation told Fox News that the man is a former law enforcement member from another state.

"He came and identified himself with expired credentials. They are going through his background and trying to figure out what he was up to there," the federal source added. 

Guglielmi said to Fox News Digital: "The U.S. Secret Service in coordination with local law enforcement in Glendale, Arizona, is investigating an individual who was observed exhibiting suspicious behavior at State Farm Stadium." 

"The individual was approached by Secret Service and stated during the encounter that he was a member of law enforcement and that he was armed. The individual is not a member of authorized law enforcement working the event and is currently in custody," Guglielmi added.

The development comes as police are expecting approximately 100,000 people to attend Kirk’s memorial service at State Farm Stadium and an overflow arena on Sunday, Sept. 21, according to media reports.  

State Farm Stadium has fixed seating for 63,400 and can expand to over 73,000 for larger events, according to the venue. 

The Department of Homeland Security also designated the memorial service as a "Special Event Assessment Rating Level 1," which is "reserved for events of the highest national significance" and the same severity as the Super Bowl.  

Erika Kirk, who is Charlie Kirk’s widow, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are among those set to speak at the event.

DAVID MARCUS: Jimmy Kimmel is on the fast train to Keith Olbermann-style oblivion

If Jimmy Kimmel is curious about what his future holds, he should consider the fate of another obstinate jerk who insisted on insulting half the country during his television heyday: Keith Olbermann.

Kimmel is in hot water, and out of a job for now, because he clearly intimated that the alleged murderer of Charlie Kirk was a pro-MAGA conservative, a disgusting lie that not only insults conservative Americans, but insinuates that Kirk's murder was in some way his own fault.

HOLDING ABC'S JIMMY KIMMEL ACCOUNTABLE ISN'T 'CANCEL CULTURE' — IT'S BASIC FAIRNESS

Much to the chagrin of Democrats, it now turns out that Kimmel wasn’t suspended owing to any supposed threats from Federal Communications Chairman Brendan Carr, but rather because when his bosses at ABC told him to apologize for lying on air, he flatly refused.

Kimmel's pride and abject hatred of President Donald Trump and his MAGA movement are clearly more important to him than respecting his audience, much less keeping his estimated $15 million salary. And that is where the Keith Olbermann cautionary tale comes in.

Olbermann was once a beloved sportscaster who decided to switch to doing news commentary on MSNBC. It worked for a while, but at some point his unrelenting bitterness and sarcasm turned off the viewers, and that turned off the folks who signed his paycheck. Now, Olbermann posts unhinged social media screeds that are so full of vitriol you want to send a wellness check over to his Central Park pad.

This is basically what Jimmy Kimmel has turned his one-time comedy show into. It is little more than an extended anti-Trump TV ad. His audience rarely laughs, but dutifully claps at his statements. They are really applauding themselves, for being good anti-Trump people.

Kimmel’s schtick at this point, if you can even call it that, has turned into being a one-note, Trump-hating angry clown. And now that his show has been pulled, he has become something even more pathetic, a sad clown. Operas have been written about such characters.

Like Olbermann, Kimmel is now very disappointed and depressed about the fact that, by insulting half the country, he lost his gig. Apparently, it is those of us who make up that half that he is so disappointed in.

Kimmel should take some time and check out the X feed of Olbermann, who is now arguably the most pathetic poster on the platform. Is this really where Kimmel wants his career to land, as a bitter old man screaming at clouds?

How hard would it be for Kimmel to do his show on Monday and just say, "Hey, I made it look like I was saying Charlie Kirk’s assassin was pro-MAGA. That’s my bad. I worded it poorly and I apologize?"

That is probably all it would take for him to get his job back, even if he continued to use it as an anti-Trump platform. But for Kimmel and his ilk, attacking Trump is worth it even though it does Trump no harm.

Obsession is a dangerous thing, especially, it seems, when it comes to Trump. Look at Liz Cheney, who threw away being the third most powerful Republican in the House of Representatives, and for what? To publicly insult Trump and his voters? Why?

Like Olbermann, Cheney could still be an important voice in our discourse if only she could have shown the slightest bit of respect for the millions of voters who put Trump in office.

It may not be too late for Kimmel to turn this disaster around, and honestly, it could be very good for the country if he did. It might help to give permission to his most loyal and liberal fans to take it easy on their Republican friends and family. To remember we are all Americans.

Unfortunately, Kimmel is getting bad advice from the people in his industry who are rallying around him as if he is a martyr. This is all the more galling because Charlie Kirk, the object of his mirth and scorn, actually was martyred, for real. 

Just apologize Jimmy. Don’t fall into oblivion by becoming the next Keith Olbermann. Just apologize, otherwise the only joke left to tell will be:

Knock, knock.

Two more healthcare employees fired over Charlie Kirk assassination comments

Two more healthcare workers have been fired after making controversial comments about the assassination of Turning Point USA founder and CEO Charlie Kirk.

In New Orleans, Acadian Ambulance Service announced the termination of an employee for this reason.

"We are aware of a recent social media post by one of our employees on their personal page," the company wrote in a statement provided to Fox News Digital.

"The post was not reflective of our company’s mission and values or the high standard of professional conduct we expect from every member of our team. The employee has since removed the post and is no longer employed by Acadian Ambulance Service."

"Our team members dedicate their lives to caring for others in their moments of greatest need. We expect and hold one another accountable to uphold respect, dignity and professionalism both in the field and online."

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has also fired an unnamed employee due to inappropriate social media comments about Kirk’s shooting death.

"Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is aware of inappropriate comments made on social media by an employee yesterday," a spokesperson said in a statement. "This type of rhetoric is not acceptable for Children’s employees and violates our social media policy."

Kirk was assassinated Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University. A growing number of employees in various fields have been terminated or suspended due to violence-supporting reactions to the fatal shooting.

Trump announces meeting with Xi Jinping at South Korea APEC summit scheduled for next month

President Donald Trump on Friday said he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea next month following a "very productive" phone call.

The meeting will take place during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. The face-to-face meeting will be the first between the two leaders during Trump’s second term in the White House.

Trump said he also agreed to travel to China in early 2026 and that Xi agreed to come to the United States "at an appropriate time."

The president said Friday that he spoke with Xi about a range of issues, including trade, the war in Ukraine and a deal to approve the sale of TikTok.

"I also agreed with President Xi that we would meet at the APEC Summit in South Korea, that I would go to China in the early part of next year, and that President Xi would likewise come to the United States at an appropriate time," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. "The call was a very good one, we will be speaking again by phone, and we appreciate the TikTok approval. Both [sides] look forward to meeting at APEC!"

Separately, Chinese state media said the two leaders held "pragmatic, positive, and constructive phone talks."

On the Chinese side, Xi told Trump that he should avoid imposing "unilateral trade restrictions" on China, according to a statement from the country’s foreign ministry.

China has been a major target for Trump’s tariffs, resulting in back-and-forth trade restrictions over the flow of fentanyl into the United States.

Xi also expressed hope that the Trump administration would provide an "open, fair, and non-discriminatory business environment" for Chinese companies in the U.S.

Regarding TikTok, the ministry said: "The Chinese government respects the wishes of the company in question and would be happy to see productive commercial negotiations in keeping with market rules lead to a solution that complies with China’s laws and regulations and takes into account the interests of both sides."

WWE star Jimmy Uso has singles championship dreams, expresses excitement for 1st baby with Naomi

Jimmy Uso may be one half of one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history, but there are still things he wants to accomplish in his career before he hangs up the boots for good.

Uso, 40, spoke to Fox News Digital before he teams with his twin brother, Jey, to compete against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in a big match at Wrestlepalooza this weekend. The bout will be the first EMF-free match in WWE history.

He was asked what he’d like to accomplish with WrestleMania 42 presumably about seven months away.

"I would love to have a singles title, just to say that I’ve done it. I’ve been in tag team, still in tag team," he said. "Even when my brother went to Raw, I went with Solo (Sikoa). We tagged together and I kinda just stayed with them. I’ve always been in the tag-team scene with anybody, with everybody, especially lately, especially after me any brother split brands. That would definitely be a bucket list for me just to say I’ve held a singles championship."

Uso has only been a tag-team champion during his entire career in WWE albeit eight times.

Uso told Fox News Digital he was looking forward to that as well.

"By WrestleMania, our baby should be here. So, that’s another thing I’m excited about. The world is a lot more different to me these last months," he said. "With my wife, with the big announcement and where were are today, how life really changed in the blink of an eye for us and our family.

"So, by April, I’d love to have a singles run, if not, it’s all love. But my favorite part is ‘Mania because I know our little, whatever we’re having, he or she will be here and I’m excited. This ‘Mania is going to be very exciting for me."

Suspect in shooting of 3 Pennsylvania officers was being sought on stalking, trespassing charges: report

The suspect in Pennsylvania who allegedly shot and killed three police officers and wounded two more was being sought on stalking and trespassing charges, a report said. 

Matthew James Ruth was identified by The Associated Press as the suspect who allegedly opened fire Wednesday at a farm in rural York County before being killed by police. The news agency cited a law enforcement official on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the ongoing investigation. 

The violence erupted after Ruth, 24, was charged with stalking, trespassing, loitering and prowling at night in a domestic-related investigation that began a day earlier, court documents show. 

The two wounded officers were taken to a hospital and remain in critical but stable condition, according to officials. York County District Attorney Tim Barker and the Pennsylvania State Police are expected to provide a further update on the case at 3 p.m. Thursday.  

5 POLICE OFFICERS SHOT, 3 DEAD IN PENNSYLVANIA, FBI INVESTIGATING 

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said during a news conference Wednesday he is continuing to pray for everyone involved. 

"This is an absolutely tragic and devastating day for your county and for the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania," Shapiro said. "[We] grieve for the loss of life of the three precious souls who served this county, served this commonwealth and served this country. We continue to pray for the full recovery of those who are dealing with their wounds." 

The FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Pennsylvania State Police are assisting local authorities. 

The shooting came just a few months after another York County officer was killed in the line of duty. 

MULTIPLE OFFICERS INVOLVED IN PENNSYLVANIA SHOOTING AS GOVERNOR RUSHES TO YORK COUNTY SCENE 

Shapiro said Attorney General Pam Bondi reached out to him directly and said the state has the full support of the federal government. 

Bondi condemned the violence in an X post, saying violence against law enforcement is "a scourge on our society and never acceptable." 

The confrontation unfolded on a rural road in south-central Pennsylvania, not far from Maryland. Neighbor Dirk Anderson told the AP he heard "quite a few" shots from his home across the street and wondered what was happening. Then he saw a helicopter and police arrive. 

Some 30 police vehicles blocked off roads bordered by a barn, a goat farm and soybean and corn fields. The area, North Codorus Township, sits about 115 miles west of Philadelphia.

Utah Valley University mourns Charlie Kirk as campus reopens after assassination: 'Extremely traumatic'

OREM, Utah – While a large American flag drapes where conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Utah Valley University's campus, students told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that campus feels "scary" and "somber."

"This is somewhere that we go to further our lives, and it could also be the place where it ends our lives," said James Whitney, a UVU student who told Fox News Digital that authorities "found the gun in my parents' backyard." 

According to suspect Tyler Robinson's charging documents, investigators found a "bolt-action rifle wrapped in a towel" in a wooded area on the northeast end of campus, but authorities have not confirmed the exact location. 

One week after Kirk was shot while taking questions from UVU students, classes on the Orem campus resumed Wednesday. As students return to campus to pay their respects to Kirk and go back to class, many are still processing what they describe as an "extremely traumatic" incident. 

CHARLIE KIRK'S KILLING AT UTAH UNIVERSITY PROMPTS SCRUTINY OF SECURITY MEASURES

Afton Miller, a UVU student who said she was 5 to 10 feet away from Kirk when he was shot, said to Fox News Digital as she was returning to the assassination site for the first time: "No one should ever be able to say I've witnessed a school shooting, let alone the assassination of one of your greatest heroes."

Kirk, 31, was shot and killed while speaking to UVU students last Wednesday, Sept. 10. After a 33-hour manhunt, 22-year-old Robinson was arrested. Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray outlined the formal charges against Robinson during a press conference on Tuesday, which was followed by the suspect's first court appearance. 

UTAH LEADERS URGE UNITY FOLLOWING CHARLIE KIRK'S ASSASSINATION: 'TURNING POINT FOR AMERICA'

A memorial that began in the days following the shooting with sparse bouquets and a few signs honoring Kirk outside campus has now filled an entire patch of grass outside campus. And inside campus, just steps from where Kirk was shot, more tributes have grown by the day as students and locals walk solemnly through the courtyard to pay their respects. 

UVU student Jessie Ball told Fox News Digital that she has witnessed her friends and classmates, including those who are atheists, return to prayer in the days following the assassination. UVU is hosting a campus and community-wide vigil on Friday to "come together in remembering, healing, and reaffirming shared values."

"A lot of people like myself, who are kind of afraid of speaking up, we've gotten over that a little because we think that his messages were important to hear," Ball said of Kirk as she held back tears. 

Ryder Warner, a UVU student who was on campus when Kirk was shot, said "just being on campus is hard for everybody."

"I think it's especially hard because some people were cheering, and it just really brings your mood down," he said. "You lose confidence in this country."

"I don't think anybody should be killed over their opinion," Warner added. 

When asked his opinion of Kirk's politics, a source of much debate since last Wednesday, Whitney told Fox News Digital that he tries to stay out of politics because "this is usually what ends up happening."

He said he opts to keep his political views to himself because political violence is "becoming normalized," and when people don't agree, "they try to take it out on everybody else."

Trae Stevens, who grew up in Spanish Fork, which is about a one-hour drive south of campus, visited on Tuesday to pay his respects, because "to see that this could happen so close to home is really scary."

"Like Charlie said, silence creates violence," Stevens said. "I think it's important to address emotions before we address dialogue and policies because, ultimately, that's what drives things like this — emotions." 

Miller, who said Kirk was one of her heroes, said that through this tragedy, "we have to get closer to God and each other."

"There's a reason we were brought to this point, and there's a reason we're going to continue forward," she said.
