US men's soccer star Christian Pulisic reacts to Sydney Sweeney romance rumors

Christian Pulisic is not dating Sydney Sweeney, and he wants everyone to know.

The United States Men's National Team superstar has been rumored to be dating the famed actress, but he put those rumors to bed earlier this week.

"Please stop with the made-up stories about my personal life. Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people’s lives," Pulisic wrote on his Instagram story earlier this week.

In another post that highlighted Pulisic's accomplishments, one of which was his reported fling with Sweeney, Pulisic wrote, "Fake news guys let’s stop with the silly rumor."

Sweeney, 28, is just one year and six days older than the 27-year-old Pulisic, who was born in 1998 — both were born in mid-September.

But Pulisic has been dating golfer Alexa Melton since at least the summer of 2024. Melton played college golf at USC and competed in the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open. She has mostly competed on the women’s Epson Tour but not since 2024.

LOOKING BACK AT THE SPORTS GAMBLING CONTROVERSIES THROUGHOUT 2025, WITH NBA AND MLB INVESTIGATIONS LEADING WAY

Sweeney, meanwhile, has been linked to music manager Scooter Braun, who has worked with Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift.

Pulisic will suit up for the Stars and Stripes this summer at the 2026 World Cup, which will be played throughout North America. The final will take place July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, home of the New York Giants and Jets.

It will be Pulisic’s second appearance in the World Cup, having also played in 2022 in Qatar. That team advanced to the knockout stage but was eliminated by the Netherlands, who lost to eventual champion Argentina in the round of 16.

The U.S. is the highest-ranked team in its group this summer, joining Australia (26th), Paraguay (39th) and a team to be determined in a playoff.

The USMNT has not had much success in the World Cup. The squad reached the Round of 16 in 2010 and 2014 but failed to qualify for the tournament in 2018. It returned to the Round of 16 three years ago but couldn’t advance out of the Copa América group stage on home soil last year.

The U.S. will open the tournament June 12 in Los Angeles against Paraguay on FOX.

ICE probes suspected Minnesota fraud sites as officials follow potential $9B money trail

ICE told Fox News they're on the ground in Minneapolis investigating allegations of fraud involving child care centers, as authorities follow a sprawling money trail that federal prosecutors say could ultimately total more than $9 billion.

"We're learning a lot," ICE Director Todd Lyons told "Fox & Friends" on Tuesday.

Lyons shared that the agency is looking into possible criminal and terrorist ties overseas, adding that the probe speaks to the breadth of ICE's work.

"[We're] going with criminal warrants to conduct these investigations," he said.

HOUSE GOP WHIP URGES CITIZENSHIP REVOCATIONS TIED TO MINNESOTA FRAUD SCHEMES

"All too often you hear that ICE is just out there terrorizing the community or conducting administrative work. We've been on the ground in Minnesota conducting criminal investigations and Homeland Security investigations [and have] gone door to door to a lot of these suspected fraud sites all over St. Paul and Minnesota."

The investigation follows widespread fraud allegations, including ones stemming from a viral video posted by independent journalist Nick Shirley showing visits to several Minnesota daycare facilities, including Quality Learning Center in Minneapolis, which appeared inactive during the visit despite receiving state childcare assistance funds.

Minnesota Department of Children, Youth and Families Commissioner Tikki Brown said during a Monday news conference that prior inspections of the sites – which occurred at random and within the last six months – did not uncover fraud and children were active at the sites.

STATE OFFICIALS AND DAYCARE MANAGER PUSH BACK ON VIRAL VIDEO FRAUD ALLEGATIONS IN MINNESOTA

Brown additionally acknowledged questions about the timing of the video visits, noting that regulators are seeking clarity on whether footage was recorded during operating hours or on days when centers were scheduled to be open.

"While we have questions about some of the methods that were used in the video, we do take the concerns that the video raises about fraud very seriously," she said.

A spokesperson for Gov. Tim Walz also addressed the swath of fraud allegations plaguing the state, saying, "The governor has worked for years to crack down on fraud and asked the state legislator for more authority to take aggressive action. He has strengthened oversight."

Lyons criticized Minnesota's policies, alleging that "sanctuary" jurisdictions allow bad actors to "hide in plain sight" and commit crimes.

"You see a lot of these fraudsters use a lot of the sanctuary rules and sanctuary protections to enact criminal fraud just like this," he said.

The manager of Quality Learning Center at the core of some allegations vehemently denied them, alleging that the video was recorded outside posted hours and misrepresented the site.

"There’s no fraud going on whatsoever," said Ibrahim Ali, the center’s manager. "Kids come to us, clients come to us, their parents come to us – they’re here daily, they leave on time, they come on time. There is no fraud going on whatsoever."

49ers wide receiver outs wife's 'expensive' lifestyle as he celebrates contract bonus

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne hit a major bonus last week when he surpassed 500 receiving yards for the season against the Indianapolis Colts.

Bourne opened up about hitting the milestone mark with NBC’s Melissa Stark before the 49ers took on the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. In their conversation, Bourne apparently threw his wife under the bus.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

"Kendrick Bourne had himself a payday last week. He made $500,000 by surpassing 500 receiving yards," Stark said during the broadcast. "He told me he was so excited to celebrate with his teammates he forgot to keep the ball. He was so happy to have gotten it. He said he’s glad it’s over because he never wants to create a distraction, but it was perfect timing right before Christmas because he said, ‘My wife, Vanessa, is expensive. So, she was just as happy as I was.’

"Yes, Vanessa, he sold you out. And how about this – he has another incentive on the horizon. If he gets to 600 yards, that’s another $250,000 payday."

STEELERS' AARON RODGERS GIVES BLUNT REACTION TO CONTROVERSIAL NO CALL IN LOSS TO BROWNS

Vanessa Bourne was at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday night to cheer on her husband and his teammates. She posted a few videos on her Instagram Stories celebrating with the wives and girlfriends of his teammates.

Kendrick and Vanessa Bourne married in 2023. The two have one child together.

The wide receiver had one catch for 25 yards against the Bears. San Francisco won the game 42-38. He has 37 catches for 551 yards this year.

He signed a one-year deal with the 49ers in the offseason after spending four seasons with the New England Patriots.

Tyler Perry hit with new $77M sexual assault lawsuit from male model

Tyler Perry is facing new sexual assault allegations.

Model Mario Rodriguez filed a lawsuit Thursday against Perry, alleging the filmmaker made repeated unwanted sexual advances over several years after Rodriguez appeared in the 2016 film "Boo! A Madea Halloween."

Rodriguez is seeking $77 million in damages, according to the filing.

TYLER PERRY SUED FOR $260M BY ACTOR CLAIMING SEXUAL HARASSMENT AND ASSAULT

The lawsuit says Rodriguez was first approached in 2014 by a trainer at an Equinox gym in Los Angeles who told him Perry wanted his phone number to talk about an acting role. Perry later encouraged Rodriguez to audition for "Boo! A Madea Halloween," allegedly telling him, "I’m not a bad person to know and have in your corner."

After the aspiring actor was cast, Rodriguez claimed he was invited to Perry’s home, where Perry allegedly touched him inappropriately while they watched a movie. The complaint describes other alleged incidents in 2016, 2018 and 2019, including one in which Perry allegedly tried to unbuckle Rodriguez’s pants and another in which he allegedly placed Rodriguez’s hand on his genitals. The lawsuit also claims Perry gave Rodriguez $5,000 on several occasions following those encounters.

Perry's legal team denied the allegations to Fox News Digital. "This is nothing but a 77 million dollar money grab scam," Perry's lawyer, Alex Spiro, said in a statement.

Fox News Digital also reached out to a representative for Rodriguez.

Perry was previously named in a $260 million sexual assault lawsuit in June. Derek Dixon accused him of creating "a coercive, sexually exploitative dynamic" while filming "The Oval" and "Ruthless." Dixon portrayed the character Dale in both series.

The complaint, obtained by Fox News Digital, accused the filmmaker of "initially promising him [Dixon] career advancement and creative opportunities, such as producing his pilot and casting him in his show, only to subject him to escalating sexual harassment, assault and battery, and professional retaliation when Mr. Dixon did not reciprocate Mr. Perry's unwanted advances."

Dixon said that he met Perry in September 2019 while working at the opening party of Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. By November 2019, Perry offered Dixon a role in "Ruthless" that would "change his life," according to the complaint.

Dixon claimed he was sexually assaulted by Perry in January 2020 and was offered a role as a series regular in "The Oval" the following month. After reading the script for the first season, Dixon learned that his character's fate was left up in the air by the season finale.

"Mr. Perry made it clear to Dixon that if Dixon ignored Perry or failed to engage with the sexual innuendos, Dixon's character would 'die' in the next season. Indeed, Dixon's character 'Dale' was shot four times in the chest at the end of his first season on 'The Oval,' and Perry always held this over Mr. Dixon's head, implying that 'Dale' would survive if Dixon kept Perry ‘happy,’" the complaint stated.

After filming the scene, Dixon stated that he went to Perry's trailer and was groped by the star. According to Dixon, he was sexually assaulted by Perry again in 2021.

Perry has denied all allegations.

700Credit data breach exposes SSNs of 5.8M consumers

Data breaches tied to financial services companies are no longer rare, but they still hit harder when Social Security numbers are involved. In the latest incident, U.S.-based fintech company 700Credit has confirmed that the personal data of more than 5.8 million people was exposed. The breach did not originate from a direct compromise of 700Credit's internal network, which makes it more concerning. It began with a third-party integration partner and quietly snowballed over several months before it was detected. By the time the issue was contained, hackers had managed to steal a significant amount of sensitive consumer data.

DATA BREACH EXPOSES 400K BANK CUSTOMERS’ INFO

The company says the breach traces back to July, when a threat actor compromised one of its third-party integration partners, as reported by Bleeping Computer. During that intrusion, the attacker discovered an exposed API that could be used to access customer information linked to 700Credit's dealership clients. The integration partner failed to inform 700Credit about the compromise, allowing the access to continue unnoticed.

Suspicious activity was only detected on October 25, when 700Credit flagged unusual behavior on its systems and launched an internal investigation. The company says it brought in third-party computer forensic specialists to assess the scope of the incident and determine what data had been affected.

According to the company's findings, certain records within its web application were copied without authorization. These records are related to customers of auto dealerships that use 700Credit's services. Managing Director Ken Hill later confirmed that roughly 20% of the consumer data accessible through the affected system was stolen between May and October.

While 700Credit has not published an exhaustive list of every data field involved, the company has confirmed that highly sensitive personal information was exposed. This includes Social Security numbers, which significantly raises the risk of identity theft and financial fraud. When SSNs are compromised, the impact is long-term. You cannot simply change them like a password.

The company has published a dedicated page on its website outlining the breach and the types of information impacted. As part of its response, 700Credit is offering affected individuals 12 months of free identity protection and credit monitoring through TransUnion. You have a 90-day window to enroll in this service after receiving the notification.

Notably, audio streaming platform SoundCloud and adult video sharing platform Pornhub also suffered data breaches tied to third-party vendors. There is no indication that the same vendor was involved in all three incidents, but the cases highlight how risky third-party access can be when vendors handle sensitive consumer data.

CyberGuy reached out to 700Credit for comment but did not receive a response before publication.

PASSWORD MANAGER FINED AFTER MAJOR DATA BREACH

When breaches like this happen, the damage is not always immediate. Your data can sit in underground markets for months before it is abused. That is why it helps to lock things down early. Here are six practical steps you can take.

A good antivirus helps block malicious downloads, phishing links and spyware that often follow large data leaks. Attackers know your details are exposed and may try to target you directly with malware-based scams.

The best way to safeguard yourself from malicious links that install malware, potentially accessing your private information, is to have strong antivirus software installed on all your devices. This protection can also alert you to phishing emails and ransomware scams, keeping your personal information and digital assets safe.

Get my picks for the best 2025 antivirus protection winners for your Windows, Mac, Android & iOS devices at Cyberguy.com.

If you are still reusing passwords, this is the time to stop. A password manager helps you generate strong, unique passwords for every service and keeps them stored securely. If one site is breached, the rest of your accounts stay protected.

Next, see if your email has been exposed in past breaches. Our #1 password manager (see Cyberguy.com) pick includes a built-in breach scanner that checks whether your email address or passwords have appeared in known leaks. If you discover a match, immediately change any reused passwords and secure those accounts with new, unique credentials.

Check out the best expert-reviewed password managers of 2025 at Cyberguy.com.

Turn on 2FA for email, banking, social media and cloud accounts. Even if someone has your password, they cannot log in without the second factor. App-based authenticators are more secure than SMS, where possible.

Monitoring services alert you when new accounts, loans or credit checks appear in your name. Early alerts give you a chance to act before serious financial damage is done.

Identity Theft companies can monitor personal information like your Social Security number, phone number and email address, and alert you if it is being sold on the dark web or being used to open an account. They can also assist you in freezing your bank and credit card accounts to prevent further unauthorized use by criminals.

See my tips and best picks on how to protect yourself from identity theft at Cyberguy.com.

PETCO CONFIRMS MAJOR DATA BREACH INVOLVING CUSTOMER DATA

Your phone number, address and other details are often already scattered across data broker sites. Data removal services help reduce your digital footprint, making it harder for attackers to profile and target you after a breach.

While no service can guarantee the complete removal of your data from the internet, a data removal service is really a smart choice. They aren't cheap, and neither is your privacy. These services do all the work for you by actively monitoring and systematically erasing your personal information from hundreds of websites. It's what gives me peace of mind and has proven to be the most effective way to erase your personal data from the internet. By limiting the information available, you reduce the risk of scammers cross-referencing data from breaches with information they might find on the dark web, making it harder for them to target you.

Check out my top picks for data removal services and get a free scan to find out if your personal information is already out on the web by visiting Cyberguy.com.

Get a free scan to find out if your personal information is already out on the web: Cyberguy.com.

If your Social Security number is involved, a credit freeze is one of the strongest defenses. It prevents new credit accounts from being opened without your approval and can be lifted temporarily when needed. To learn more about how to do this, go to Cyberguy.com and search "How to freeze your credit."

Third-party APIs and integrations are essential for modern digital services, but they also expand the attack surface. When third-party partners fail to disclose breaches quickly, the downstream impact can be massive, as this case shows. If you receive a notification from 700Credit, take it seriously. Enroll in the credit monitoring service, review your credit reports, and consider locking them down. Even if no fraud has occurred yet, breaches involving SSNs often lead to delayed abuse months or even years later.

'Worst of the worst': The 10 most violent illegal immigrants nabbed in 2025

In President Donald Trump’s first year back in office, over 2.5 million illegal aliens have left the country, due in large part to the administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration and extensive deportation program.

In its deportation push, the Department of Homeland Security has prioritized targeting violent criminal illegals. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin has accused the media of "whitewashing" facts about the arrests of illegal immigrants with violent criminal histories and portraying them as victims.

"As the media whitewashes the facts, day in and day out, our brave men and women of ICE risk their lives for the American people," McLaughlin said.

From a "habitual" child predator to a beheading incident to another who strangled a taxicab driver to death, here are ten of the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens arrested with violent charges this year.

On June 1, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an Egyptian national living in the U.S. on an expired visa, was arrested on federal charges of first-degree murder, first-degree assault and a hate crime after allegedly setting fire to people at a pro-Israel event in Boulder.

Authorities described the attack as terrorism-inspired violence.

According to the federal indictment, Soliman threw two Molotov cocktails at event attendees, shouting, "Free Palestine!" Per the indictment, he was armed with a backpack weed sprayer that contained a flammable liquid and a black plastic container that held at least 18 Molotov cocktails.

DHS TAKES VICTORY LAP AFTER ARRESTING OVER 10K ILLEGAL ALIENS IN DEEP BLUE CITY DESPITE VIOLENT RIOTS

Thirteen people were injured in the attack, and an 82-year-old woman, Karen Diamond, died of her injuries on June 25, 2025. A dog was also harmed.

Just days later, Emiliano Garduno-Galvez was arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at law enforcement during anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles.

The incident was caught on video and posted to X by DHS.

According to the agency, Garduno-Galvez had been previously deported and has a criminal history, including grand theft and a DUI.

On June 20, DHS announced that ICE arrested Gabriel Hurtado-Cariaco, a Venezuelan illegal immigrant and member of the infamous Tren de Aragua gang, which was designated a "foreign terrorist organization" by the Trump administration.

According to DHS, during an immigration enforcement operation in Bellevue, Nebraska, Hurtado-Cariaco launched a "brutal and premeditated assault" on a female ICE Homeland Security Investigations special agent and an FBI agent. The agency said that Hurtado-Cariaco threw the ICE agent to the ground, slammed her head into the pavement, ripped off her body armor, and made repeated and physical violent contact. The agent survived but sustained serious injuries to her head and arm and was treated at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Though Hurtado-Cariaco fled the scene, he was picked up hours later and charged with attempted murder of a federal officer and assault of a federal officer with infliction of bodily injury. He entered the country illegally in 2023.

Also facing deportation is Indian illegal alien Harjinder Singh, who was arrested on August 12 after a Florida Turnpike crash in which investigators allege he made an unlawful U-turn with a semitruck, causing a wreck that killed three people.

DHS LAUNCHES 'WORST OF THE WORST' WEBPAGE TARGETING ALLEGED CRIMINAL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS NATIONWIDE

Singh is facing three counts of vehicular homicide in Florida and ICE has lodged a detainer for his arrest.

According to DHS, Singh entered the country illegally in 2018 and was issued a commercial driver’s license by the state of California in 2024. Singh’s case sparked widespread concern about illegal immigrant drivers endangering lives on U.S. roads.

On Aug. 18, ICE arrested William Alexander Telles Amaya, a 35-year-old criminal alien from El Salvador, whom the agency described as a "habitual child predator."

ICE said that Amaya has been convicted three times for child sex offenses, including aggravated sexual assault of a child in April 2006, failure to register as a sex offender in May 2015, and sexual indecency with a minor in July 2025.

DHS PACKAGES LATEST ICE ARRESTS AS 'CHRISTMAS GIFT TO AMERICANS'

In another major Texas city, Dallas, ICE arrested Cuban illegal Yordanis Cobos-Martinez on Sept. 10. According to the agency, Cobos-Martinez has a long criminal history, including child sex abuse, grand theft of a motor vehicle, false imprisonment and carjacking.

The agency said that Cobos-Martinez was arrested by Dallas police for allegedly using a machete to behead a merchant he had argued with. The agency said the murder took place in front of the merchant’s spouse and child and that Cobos-Martinez then kicked the head of the victim "around like a soccer ball."

ICE said that Cobos-Martinez had previously been arrested by ICE and had a final order of removal, but was released by the Biden administration just a week before Trump took office on Jan. 13.

DHS announced the Oct. 14 arrest of Eduardo Aguilar, a 23-year-old Mexican illegal alien residing in Dallas, after he called for the murder of ICE agents in a Spanish video posted on TikTok.

Aguilar’s post, dated Oct. 9, 2025, called for "10 dudes in Dallas with determination who aren’t afraid to [two skull emoji]." He offered "10K for each ICE agent."

According to court records, Aguilar was charged with transmitting a communication in interstate or foreign commerce containing a threat.

He entered the country illegally in 2018 and had an outstanding removal order from 2019. At the time of his arrest, Aguilar had a loaded 9mm handgun in his vehicle.

DHS RIPS DEM-RUN COUNTY AFTER ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT MURDERER RELEASED: 'BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS'

In Plano, Texas, ICE lodged a detainer on Nov. 17 against Sergio Noe de Nova Duarte, a Mexican illegal alien, who allegedly attacked an innocent woman jogging in a park with a hammer.

The Plano Police Department charged Duarte with aggravated kidnapping and bodily injury. He had previous arrests for burglary and larceny in 2024 and had been arrested by ICE, but was released under the Biden administration. He was set to appear before an immigration judge in 2026.

He entered the U.S. on a tourist visa in 2016 and overstayed his visa.

This month, ICE announced it had arrested Esteban Silva-Garcia, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, following a conviction of strangulation, applying pressure to the throat or neck, and endangering the welfare of a child in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

ICE ARRESTS 100+ ILLEGAL ALIEN TRUCKERS IN MAJOR SWEEP AFTER DEADLY CRASHES ACROSS MULTIPLE STATES

Just days before Christmas, DHS announced it had arrested Santos Paulino Vasquez-Ramirez, a Guatemalan illegal charged with homicide and robbery. The agency said that Vasquez-Ramirez strangled a taxicab driver named Aurelio Zhunio-Orbez to death in Brewster, New York, over a dispute about fare.

Zhunio-Orbez’s body was found a few days later, floating in the Croton Falls Reservoir.

Vasquez-Ramirez entered the country illegally in 2013 and had an outstanding order of removal from 2016.

Steelers make major contract decision on DK Metcalf after suspension

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf was set to lose millions because of his two-game suspension for striking a Detroit Lions fan during a heated incident last week.

FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer said Sunday that the Steelers opted against voiding the star player’s contract guarantees.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

"Because he got suspended, the Steelers could have basically taken back all of his guarantees, "Glazer said on "FOX NFL Kickoff." "They, however, have decided not to do that. They’re gonna stick with DK. They don’t want to do something like that. They kinda want to make a long-term commitment to DK Metcalf, even in situations like this."

The star player signed a four-year, $132 million contract extension with the Steelers after he was acquired from the Seattle Seahawks. The deal included $60 million in guaranteed money between his signing bonus and 2025 and 2026 salaries, according to Spotrac.

2026 NFL DRAFT ORDER AHEAD OF SUNDAY'S WEEK 17 GAMES

The suspension would have voided the rest of his salary for this season and $45 million in future guarantees, if the Steelers choose to do so, according to the NFL Network. He’s reportedly owed $25 million in fully guaranteed cash in 2026 and $20 million in injury guarantee.

He will, however, lose more than  $555,000 in Weeks 17 and 18 because of his suspension.

The NFL said Metcalf violated league policy, specifying that "players may not enter the stands or otherwise confront fans at any time on game day and … if a player makes unnecessary physical contact with a fan in any way that constitutes unsportsmanlike conduct or presents crowd-control issues and/or risk of injury, he will be held accountable."

It still remains a mystery about what was said between the fan and Metcalf. The fan said earlier in the week he didn’t hurl a racial slur or make derogatory remarks toward the player.

Traditional Brazilian plant shows unexpected strength against arthritis

A plant used in Brazilian medicine has scientific potential to help people with arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. Researchers tested Joseph’s Coat (Alternanthera littoralis) in lab studies and found it reduced swelling, protected joint tissue, and appeared safe at the doses used.

Joseph’s Coat grows naturally along Brazil’s coast. Local communities have traditionally used it to ease inflammation, infections, and parasites. Until now, however, there has not been solid scientific evidence showing it works or is safe.

The new study was carried out by teams from universities across Brazil, including the Federal University of Grande Dourados, the State University of Campinas, and São Paulo State University. They published their findings in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology.

COMMON SPICE MAY BEAT DEPRESSION AND BOOST SEXUAL HEALTH, DOCTOR SAYS

Scientists first examined the chemical makeup of the plant’s stems and leaves that grow above ground. They prepared an ethanolic extract, meaning they used alcohol to pull out the plant’s active compounds.

In lab models of arthritis, this extract reduced visible swelling.

"In the experimental models, we observed reduced edema, improved joint parameters, and modulation of inflammatory mediators, suggesting antioxidant and tissue-protective actions," Arielle Cristina Arena, associate professor in the Department of Structural and Functional Biology at the Institute of Biosciences at UNESP’s Botucatu Campus, said in a press release.

It also influenced inflammatory pathways and signs of oxidative stress, which can damage tissue during chronic inflammation.

Joints exposed to the extract showed fewer signs of degeneration and better overall health than untreated controls.

The research team also ran toxicology tests to check for safety. At the tested doses, the plant extract did not trigger harmful effects in the laboratory animals used in the study, suggesting a promising safety profile.

EXPERIMENTAL TREATMENT EASES KNEE ARTHRITIS PAIN WITHOUT SURGERY OR PILLS

If further research confirms these results, researchers say that Joseph’s Coat could be a source for new plant-based anti-inflammatory treatments.

Modern arthritis drugs can be effective but often have side effects that limit long-term use. The team says that natural compounds with fewer side effects could offer alternatives or complements in future therapies.

The study was conducted in animals, not humans, so the findings cannot be directly applied to patients with arthritis.

Erika Kirk says her conversations with God are the same since Charlie's death, doesn't ask, 'Why me?'

Erika Kirk, the widow of late Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk, sat down with Fox News' Shannon Bream on "Fox News Sunday," where she opened up about how her relationship with God has evolved since her husband’s tragic assassination in September.

Bream asked Erika Kirk what her conversations with God have been like in the months since her husband was killed.

"Quite frankly, they're kind of the same," she responded. "I've never questioned, ‘Why me?’ I always knew that my life was not just to be lived for me. We're here for such a greater purpose, and Charlie and I both knew that."

‘I MARRIED THE LOVE OF MY LIFE’: ERIKA KIRK WEEPS WHILE WATCHING VIDEO OF LATE HUSBAND

Erika Kirk added that the couple's shared faith in God and their drive to serve a greater purpose is "why Charlie built what he built."

"I talk to God, like I said, the same way: 'God, use me, God, heal my heart. You know my pain, you know the depths of my pain. Walk through this with me. Put the people in my path that will help heal me and guide me and direct me and keep me in lockstep with your will,'" she said.

Erika Kirk was named the CEO of TPUSA following her husband's death. As the new leader of the conservative organization, she said that "God's will" is her sole guiding light as she moves forward.

"I don't want anything outside of God's will. I do not," she said. "Anything outside of the jet streams of God's will, I will not even touch it with a 10-foot pole."

TPUSA Faith, the faith arm of the organization, has grown at a staggering rate following Charlie Kirk's assassination.

In October, TPUSA Faith announced that it had doubled its church network and added more than 200,000 Christians to its ranks — one of the largest growth spikes in the organization's history.

Erika Kirk's full interview with Bream airs Sunday on "Fox News Sunday," which airs Sunday morning on local FOX stations and at 2 p.m. ET on Fox News Channel.

Phillies' Bryce Harper sends apparent message to team exec in TikTok post after criticism

Bryce Harper seemed to have a message for a key face of his own team.

Shortly after the Philadelphia Phillies were ousted from the postseason, president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski proclaimed that his star first baseman "didn't have an elite season like he has had in the past."

He wasn't exactly wrong — Harper hit .261 with an .844 OPS in 2025, both lower than his career averages. In both of his MVP seasons, he hit over .300 with an OPS of over 1.000.

Harper voiced his displeasure with Dombrowski's comments shortly afterward, and the two are said to have discussed the matter in private. However, it doesn't seem like Harper is totally over it.

In a recent TikTok post of himself at a batting cage, Harper was seen wearing a shirt that read, "NOT ELITE."

Harper turned 33 one week after the Phillies were eliminated by the Los Angeles Dodgers, who eventually won their second consecutive World Series. The Phillies have been a mainstay in October this decade but have been unable to get over the hump.

SPORTS TEAMS THAT WERE CROWNED CHAMPIONS IN 2025

Dombrowski said Harper was "still an All-Star caliber player," but "we (can) only find out if he becomes elite or if he continues to be good."

"I look around the league … Freddie Freeman. He’s a really good player, right? He still is a good player. Is he elite like he was before? Probably not to the same extent. Freddie’s a tremendous player. And, that to me, is Bryce. Can he rise to the next level again?" Dombrowski said. "I don’t really know that answer.

"I mean, really, he’s the one that will dictate that more than anything else, is what it comes down to. I don’t think he’s content with the year that he had. And, again, it wasn’t a bad year, but when I think of Bryce Harper, you’re thinking elite, you’re thinking one of the top 10 players in baseball, and I don’t think [his 2025 season] fit into that category. But, again, very good player."

Harper played in 132 games this season, landing on the injured list with a wrist injury. He signed a 13-year, $330 million deal with the Phillies ahead of the 2019 season.

Jimmy Kimmel sparks backlash with ‘tyranny’ jab at America in UK Christmas speech

Jimmy Kimmel is facing renewed backlash following his decision to criticize the United States during an address to the United Kingdom that aired on Christmas. RealClearPolitics co-founder Tom Bevan dismissed Kimmel’s remarks as contradictory and called the late-night host "insufferable."

Kimmel was selected to deliver Channel 4’s annual "Alternative Christmas Message," a long-standing counter-programming speech that airs opposite the BBC’s traditional Royal Christmas address.

During the speech, the late-night host repeatedly took aim at President Donald Trump, claiming that "tyranny is booming over here" in the U.S. He also apologized on behalf of the country, telling the audience, "We are not bright. We’re Americans."

LATE-NIGHT COMEDY SHOWS BOOKED 90 LIBERAL GUESTS TO ONE CONSERVATIVE IN LATE 2025, STUDY SHOWS

Kimmel went on to argue that Trump wanted to silence him because he does not "adore him in the way he likes to be adored." He also claimed that after his show was briefly pulled off the air in September, it returned "stronger than ever" and that "the president lost."

JIMMY KIMMEL SAYS TYRANNY RISING UNDER TRUMP, TAUNTS PRESIDENT OVER SHOW'S RETURN

Bevan said Kimmel’s claims don’t make sense, given the host’s continued presence on television, calling him "among the most insufferable Trump haters in America."

"There's a real contradiction there. If tyranny is booming, how can his show be doing so well?" asked Bevan on "America’s Newsroom" Friday.

"If, you know, tyranny is so great in the United States, why does Jimmy Kimmel get to go on the air every single night and bash the president of the United States? That seems like a free America," he later added.

Other figures on X took aim at Kimmel for ripping his own country while ignoring the free speech issues in Britain, given the flood of arrests there of citizens over social media posts.

KIMMEL'S WIFE SAYS DAUGHTER 'BURST INTO TEARS' AFTER DAD'S SHOW SUSPENDED, SON ASKED IF TRUMP WAS RESPONSIBLE

Earlier this year, Disney temporarily pulled Kimmel’s show off the air after the host suggested that the suspected killer of Charlie Kirk was a Trump supporter. Following the remarks, several local television broadcasters refused to air the show for days.

Kimmel eventually returned to his show, saying he hadn’t intended to make light of the shooting. While the controversy led to a ratings bump, Kimmel and most other late-night comedians continue to face declining viewership.

"They became more and more niche, basically pandering to sort of an anti-Trump audience. And as a result, they found their ratings decline rather precipitously," Bevan said.

Earlier this month, ABC extended Kimmel’s contract, which was set to end in May 2026, into 2027.

Times Square ball goes red, white and blue for America's 250th birthday

This year's crystal ball in Times Square drop to celebrate 2026 will feature a patriotic touch for America's 250th birthday

The ball will sparkle in red, white and blue to usher in the new year and kick off months of celebrations for the nation’s birthday. And a second confetti drop will happen at 12:04 a.m. on New Year's Day, America250 chair Rosie Rios told Fox News.

The iconic ball drop in Times Square is one of the biggest and most watched events on New Year's Eve, which typically sees up to 1 million people packing the area, sometimes in frigid temperatures.

A second ball drop event is being planned for July 3, the eve of the nation's birthday, "in the same beautiful style that Times Square knows how to do it," Rios said.

It will mark the first time in 120 years there will be ball drop in Times Square that doesn't occur on New Year's Eve, she said.

TOP AUTOMAKER UNLEASHES 250 LIMITED-EDITION CORVETTES INSPIRED BY AMERICA'S FOUNDING

The celebration will come ahead of months of big and small events to celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

"I’m telling you right now, whatever you’re imagining, it’s going to be much more than that," said America250 Chair Rosie Rios, who oversees the bipartisan commission created by Congress in 2016 to organize the semiquincentennial anniversary, told The Associated Press. "It's going to be one for the ages, the most inspirational celebration this country and maybe the world has ever seen."

The group worked with the Times Square Alliance business district and One Times Square, the building from where the ball is dropped, to make the changes to this year's ceremonies.

UFC WHITE HOUSE PLANS REVEALED, INCLUDING WEIGH-INS AT LINCOLN MEMORIAL: REPORT

The ball drop has occurred in Times Square nearly every year since 1907. The only years when no ball drop occurred were 1942 and 1943, when New York City instituted a nightly "dimout" during World War II to protect itself from attacks.

In addition to the ball drop, America Gives, a national service initiative created by America250, which launch at the stroke of midnight on Jan. 1.

American250 will participate in the New Years Day Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, with a float themed "Soaring Onward Together for 250 Years."

President Donald Trump has also announced the "Freedom 250" initiative to coordinate additional events for the 250th anniversary.

Rios said a wide range of celebrations and programs are planned next year to commemorate America's birthday, ranging from large fireworks displays and statewide potluck suppers to student contests and citizen oral histories.

The events, she said, are an opportunity to unite a politically divided nation.

"If we can find something for everyone ... having those menus of options that people can pick and choose how they want to participate," she told the AP. "That’s how we’re going to get to engaging 350 million Americans."

New iPhone scam tricks owners into giving phones away

Getting a brand-new iPhone should be a moment you enjoy. You open the box. You power it on. Everything feels secure. Unfortunately, scammers know that moment too.

Over the past few weeks, we've heard from a number of people who received unexpected phone calls shortly after activating a new iPhone. The callers claimed to be from a major carrier. They said a shipping mistake was made. They insisted the phone needed to be returned right away. One message stood out because it shows exactly how convincing and aggressive this scam can be.

That second early morning call was the giveaway. Pressure is the scammer's favorite tool.

HOLIDAY DELIVERIES AND FAKE TRACKING TEXTS: HOW SCAMMERS TRACK YOU

This scam relies on timing and pressure. First, criminals focus on people who recently bought a new iPhone. That information often comes from data-broker sites, leaked purchase data or marketing lists sold online. Next, scammers spoof a carrier phone number. As a result, the call appears legitimate. They sound confident and informed because they already know the device model you ordered.

Once the call begins, the story moves quickly. The scammer claims a shipping mistake occurred. Then they insist the phone must be returned right away. To reinforce urgency, they say a courier is already scheduled. If you follow the instructions, you hand over a brand-new iPhone. At that point, the device is gone. The scammer either resells it or strips it for parts. By the time you realize something is wrong, recovery is unlikely.

This scam copies real customer service processes. Carriers do ship replacement phones. FedEx does handle returns. Gift cards are often used as apologies. Scammers blend those facts together and add urgency. They count on you acting before you verify. They also rely on one risky assumption, that a phone call that looks real must be real.

REAL APPLE SUPPORT EMAILS USED IN NEW PHISHING SCAM

Once you know what to watch for, the warning signs are clear.

• Unsolicited calls about returns you did not request

• Pressure to act fast

• Instructions to leave a phone outside

• Promises of gift cards for cooperation

• Follow-up calls to rush you

Legitimate carriers do not handle returns this way.

THE FAKE REFUND SCAM: WHY SCAMMERS LOVE HOLIDAY SHOPPERS

Protecting yourself starts with slowing things down. Scammers rely on speed and confusion. You win by pausing and verifying.

Hang up and contact the carrier using the number on your bill or the official website. If the issue is real, they will confirm it.

Legitimate returns use tracked shipping labels tied to your account. Carriers do not ask you to leave phones on porches or doorsteps.

Scammers rush you on purpose. Pressure shuts down careful thinking. Any demand for immediate action should raise concern.

Scammers often know what phone you bought because your personal data is widely available online. Data removal services help reduce your exposure by removing your information from data broker sites that criminals rely on.

Strong antivirus software adds another layer of protection. Many antivirus tools help block scam calls, warn about phishing links and alert you to suspicious activity before damage is done.

The best way to safeguard yourself from malicious links that install malware, potentially accessing your private information, is to have strong antivirus software installed on all your devices. This protection can also alert you to phishing emails and ransomware scams, keeping your personal information and digital assets safe.

Keep voicemails, phone numbers and timestamps. This information helps carriers warn other customers and spot repeat scams.

Criminals reuse the same script again and again. A quick warning to friends or family could stop the next victim.

Scams aimed at new iPhone owners are getting more targeted and more aggressive. Criminals are timing their calls carefully and copying real carrier language. The simplest defense still works best. Verify before you act. If a call pressures you to rush or hand over a device, pause and contact the company directly. That one step can save you hundreds of dollars and a major headache.

If a carrier called you tomorrow claiming a mistake with your new phone, would you verify first or would urgency take over? Let us know by writing to us at Cyberguy.com.

NFL Pro Bowler Dak Prescott’s Christmas wish includes greater say in Cowboys front office decisions

Dak Prescott will be heading to the NFL Pro Bowl for the fourth time in his career.

On Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback was named one of three NFC quarterbacks selected for the league's showcase of the year's top players. Several of Prescott’s teammates — wide receiver George Pickens and offensive lineman Tyler Smith — will join him in the San Francisco Bay Area during Super Bowl LX week for the Pro Bowl festivities. Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and kicker Brandon Aubrey also received nods.

The Cowboys, however, will not be competing in the big game — or the postseason at all, for that matter. Dallas dropped a third game in a row in Week 16 to fall to 6-8-1 on the season. The Cowboys have been eliminated from playoff contention.

Despite his Pro Bowl nod, Prescott emphasized the importance of winning over personal accolades.

"It's cool. It's something good within the season. Understanding every year I work my tail off to try to be the best quarterback I can for this team. Ultimately, I feel like I'm judged off of wins," he said. "I didn't get it done this season. However, the individual numbers, performance record, allowed an individual accolade, but that's 100% still a team deal."

COWBOYS STAR IMPLORES TEAMMATES TO GIVE GENEROUS BONUS TO STAFF MEMBERS: 'DON'T BE CHEAP'

Prescott then gave his teammates credit for their contributions to his on-field successes.

"When you're the quarterback of this team, to be able to put up numbers like that, you've got to have receivers like George, CeeDee, Ferg, the rest of the guys. And you've got to have a great offensive line. ... My success, that accolade, is 100% with each and every one of those guys in there. It's pretty cool to be a Pro Bowler, but at the end of the day, it's not what we're going for."

Longtime Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones shouldered blame for the team’s three-decade championship drought.

"I’ll admit that the Cowboys' management has played a big role (in the 30-year Super Bowl drought)," Jones said after last Sunday's loss. "But seriously, I’m very disappointed that the way we’re structured, and my role, puts us here tonight. I’m tremendously disappointed."

Prescott will turn 33 before next season kicks off. Considering more football is behind him than in front of him, the veteran signal-caller hinted he wants a more vocal role in the team’s front office decision-making going forward.

"We won't be back here in this spot. I feel like the last few times I've probably said that were playoff losses, right? So each year has its own troubles. ... I'm going to do my damnedest just controlling what I can, and you know as you get older, having more input, having more say-so and being asked more questions from the front office, maybe there's a little bit more that I can do," Prescott said.

"It's not just physically or me getting better at my game. Maybe it's speaking up and saying that, 'This will help, or I think this can help.' So, whatever it takes, I'm going to do my damnedest and make sure that I'm influencing and encouraging everybody else around me -- not just players -- to do the same."

This offseason, the Cowboys front office will weigh re-signing wide receiver George Pickens and running back Javonte Williams. Determining where Tyler Smith will play along the Cowboys’ offensive line next season is another key personnel decision this offseason.

The Washington Commanders host the Cowboys at 1 p.m. ET on Christmas Day.

Katie Couric rejects 'bothsidesism' in news coverage, says people don't want 'just the facts'

Katie Couric spoke out against "bothsidesism" in news coverage and insisted people don't want "just the facts" in the current media environment.

Appearing on Tuesday's installment of "The Grill Room" podcast, Couric decried the current backlash against the "expert" class, saying she loves talking to people "with a deep well of knowledge" about specific issues.

"So what I try to do, and what we try to do, is help people stay abreast of everything that's happening, which is increasingly difficult given the velocity of things that are thrown at us primarily by this administration," Couric told host Dylan Byers. "But try to understand and give them some perspective and context and help explain in some cases why people need to be aware and concerned about some of the things that are happening in this country."

KATIE COURIC EMBRACES HER LIBERAL STANCE FOLLOWING YEARS IN BROADCAST NEWS: ‘I’M NOT FOR EVERYONE'

"And I think I feel more comfortable in speaking out about things than I ever would have, obviously, on 'The Today Show.' I think that it was a different time ... but I think if I were on 'The Today Show' now, I would feel muzzled, and I think that I would feel frustrated that we couldn't really talk about the stuff that was happening and in a deep way."

The veteran TV host went on to say that she feels "upset" by what's going on in the country, telling Byers her job is to "help people understand why this is not normal."

WHITE HOUSE RIPS KATIE COURIC AFTER PRESSING FETTERMAN TO DISAVOW CHARLIE KIRK, TRUMP

"I guess that puts me squarely on one side of the media divide, but I'm ok with that," Couric said. "Cause I want my grandkids to say, 'Yeah, she did that morning show, and she did an evening newscast, but like when the rubber was really hitting the road, she made sure that people understood what that meant and what was going on.

"And I think the era of kind of bothsidesism or just the facts — and by the way, just the facts without context, without examination, I don't think people really want that."

Couric also told Byers that "one of the hardest jobs in journalism" today is interviewing President Donald Trump.

"He's a very, very difficult person to interview, because you can spend every question with a fact-checking follow-up. And it's very difficult to do," Couric said.

When asked whether she would want an Oval Office interview, she replied, "Obviously, if I had the opportunity, I would."

KATIE COURIC RIPS KAMALA HARRIS FOR WORD SALAD RESPONSES IN CAMPAIGN INTERVIEWS: ‘ANSWER THE GODD--N QUESTION’

Couric, who launched her own media company in 2017 after her decades-long career in television, has embraced her liberal stance on issues in recent years, acknowledging she's "not for everyone."

"I mean, at some point, I think I believe strongly in reproductive rights. I think they're the foundation of equal rights for women. And I felt an obligation to say that," Couric said in 2023. "Similarly, you know, I feel very strongly about reducing gun violence in this country. I've covered too many school shootings, too many mass shootings. You know, nothing happened after Sandy Hook… And I think, you know, 74% of NRA members want stricter gun laws. And the fact that we can't get it done because we are being held hostage by these extremists."

"It's ridiculous and unacceptable. And I feel like, you know, I've earned the right on some issues that are important to me to speak my mind," Couric added.

Terry Rozier's attorneys ask federal judge to dismiss gambling charges, citing Supreme Court ruling

Terry Rozier's attorneys have asked a judge to throw out betting charges as he faces jail time.

The NBA player was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering stemming from his alleged involvement in illegal sports gambling.

Rozier was arrested for his alleged involvement stemming from a game in 2023 in which he played less than 10 minutes, citing a foot injury. Multiple people placed high-stakes wagers on Rozier to perform poorly before the game, all of whom won.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

Rozier’s lawyers argued that the government’s theory of the case — that he prevented sportsbooks from making informed decisions about accepting certain bets — runs afoul of a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that narrowed the federal wire fraud statute.

"The government has billed this case as involving ‘insider betting’ and ‘rigging’ professional basketball games," Rozier’s lawyers, James M. Trusty and A. Jeff Ifrah, wrote in the motion. "But the indictment alleges something less headline-worthy: that some bettors broke certain sportsbooks’ terms of use against wagering based on non-public information and ‘straw betting.’"

NBA BUST PURCHASES STAKE IN COMPETITIVE FISHING CLUB AMID BASKETBALL STRUGGLES

Trusty told Fox News shortly after his client's arrest that Rozier "told a friend" he would take himself out of a game early, which is "not a crime." Trusty said Rozier was dealing with a "chronic injury," but Rozier had not been placed on the Charlotte Hornets' injury report before the game.

Neither Hornets officials nor betting companies were made aware of Rozier's plan, according to the Department of Justice.

Earlier this month, Rozier pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

Rozier was one of more than 30 people, along with NBA figures Chauncey Billups and Damon Jones, who were part of FBI probes into alleged illegal gambling with ties to organized crime families. Billups and Jones allegedly participated in rigged poker games, while Jones also allegedly leaked non-public information about NBA games so those close to him could place wagers with a competitive advantage.

Billups and Jones have pleaded not guilty to their respective charges.

Both Billups and Rozier have been placed on unpaid leave from their teams as their court cases play out.

Prominent Rhode Island Democrat caught on video telling officer, 'You know who I am?' during DUI stop

A prominent Rhode Island Democrat was captured on police bodycam video asking an officer, "You know who I am?" before her arrest during a recent traffic stop.

Maria Bucci, 51, who is the chairwoman of the Democratic committee in Cranston – the second-largest city in the state – is now facing a misdemeanor DUI charge following a traffic stop on Dec. 18 in East Greenwich, according to media reports.

"You know who I am right?" Bucci is heard telling an East Greenwich police officer just moments after he said he smelled alcohol in her breath and described her driving as erratic.

"I don’t know who you are miss," the officer responds, before adding, "You can start throwing out names and start doing out what you need to do, it’s not going to work with me, I’m telling you right now, I’m not the guy for that."

RHODE ISLAND PROSECUTOR IN VIRAL ARREST VIDEO PLACED ON UNPAID LEAVE

The bodycam footage shows the officer trying to lead Bucci through a series of sobriety tests.

Bucci, a former Cranston mayoral candidate, previously served on the City Council from 2004 to 2008 and also launched an unsuccessful bid for a Rhode Island House of Representatives seat last year, the Cranston Herald reported.

At one point during the traffic stop, Bucci is heard saying, "Call my husband right now, and call the attorney general and everybody else in town, cause this is disgusting, God forbid I was a Black person, I’d be arrested."

WATCH: FOOTAGE SHOWS BLUE STATE PROSECUTOR WARNING OFFICERS THEY'LL 'REGRET' ARRESTING HER: 'I'M AN AG!'

The officer eventually takes Bucci into custody. As she is placed in handcuffs, she says "you’re a d---" and looks towards the body camera.

"Like I am not drinking, you’re a loser," she adds.

At the beginning of the video, Bucci told the officer she had a glass of wine and had attended a Christmas party.

Bucci, who is expected to be arraigned on Jan. 5, was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance, according to WPRI.

Bucci and the Rhode Island Democratic Party did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

New malware can read your chats and steal your money

A new Android banking trojan called Sturnus is shaping up to be one of the most capable threats we have seen in a while. It is still in early development, but it already behaves like a fully mature operation.

Once it infects a device, it can take over your screen, steal your banking credentials and even read encrypted chats from apps you trust. The worrying part is how quietly it works in the background. You think your messages are safe because they are end-to-end encrypted, but this malware simply waits for the phone to decrypt them before grabbing everything.

It's important to note, however, that Sturnus does not break encryption; it only captures messages after your apps decrypt them on your device.

Sturnus combines several attack layers that give the operator nearly full visibility into the device, as reported by cybersecurity research firm ThreatFabric. It uses HTML overlays that mimic real banking apps to trick you into typing your credentials. Everything you enter goes straight to the attacker through a WebView that forwards the data instantly. It also runs an aggressive keylogging system through the Android Accessibility Service. This lets it capture text as you type, follow which app is open, and map every UI element on the screen. Even when apps block screenshots, the malware keeps tracking the UI tree in real time, which is enough to reconstruct what you are doing.

NEW ANDROID MALWARE CAN EMPTY YOUR BANK ACCOUNT IN SECONDS

On top of overlays and keylogging, the malware monitors WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal and other messaging apps. It waits for these apps to decrypt messages locally, then captures the text right from the screen. This means your chats may remain encrypted over the network, but once the message appears on your display, Sturnus sees the entire conversation. It also includes a full remote control feature with live screen streaming and a more efficient mode that sends only interface data. This allows precise taps, text injection, scrolling and permission approvals without showing any activity to the victim.

The malware protects itself by grabbing Device Administrator privileges and blocking any attempt to remove it. If you open the settings page that could disable those permissions, Sturnus detects it immediately and moves you away from the screen before you can act. It also monitors battery state, SIM changes, developer mode, network conditions and even signs of forensic investigation to decide how to behave. All this data goes back to the command-and-control server through a mix of WebSocket and HTTP channels protected with RSA and AES encryption.

When it comes to financial theft, the malware has several ways to take over your accounts. It can collect credentials through overlays, keylogging, UI-tree monitoring and direct text injection. If needed, it can black out your screen with a full-screen overlay while the attacker performs fraudulent transactions in the background. Since the screen is hidden, you have no idea anything is happening until it is too late.

If you want to protect yourself from threats like this, here are a few practical things you can start doing right away.

Avoid downloading APKs from forwarded links, shady websites, Telegram groups or third-party app stores. Banking malware spreads most effectively through sideloaded installers disguised as updates, coupons or new features. If you need an app that isn't in the Play Store, verify the developer's official site, check hashes if provided and read recent reviews to make sure the app hasn't been hijacked.

Most dangerous malware relies on accessibility permissions because they allow full visibility into your screen and interactions. Device administrator rights are even more powerful since they can block removal. If a simple utility app suddenly asks for these, stop immediately. These permissions should only be granted to apps that genuinely need them, such as password managers or accessibility tools you trust.

Install system updates as soon as they arrive, since many Android banking trojans target older devices that lack the latest security patches. If your phone is no longer receiving updates, you are at a higher risk, especially when using financial apps. Avoid sideloading custom ROMs unless you know how they handle security patches and Google Play Protect.

HOW ANDROID MALWARE LETS THIEVES ACCESS YOUR ATM CASH

Android phones come with Google Play Protect built in, which catches a large chunk of known malware families and warns you when apps behave suspiciously. But if you want greater security and control, choose a third-party antivirus app. These tools can alert you when an app starts logging your screen or trying to take over your phone.

The best way to safeguard yourself from malicious links that install malware, potentially accessing your private information, is to have strong antivirus software installed on all your devices. This protection can also alert you to phishing emails and ransomware scams, keeping your personal information and digital assets safe.

A lot of these campaigns rely on data brokers, leaked databases and scraped profiles to build lists of people to target. If your phone number, email, address or social handles are floating around on dozens of broker sites, it becomes much easier for attackers to reach you with malware links or tailored scams. A personal data removal service helps clean up that footprint by deleting your info from data broker listings.

Trojan overlays often appear when you open your bank app or a popular service. If the screen layout looks different or asks for credentials in a way you don't recognize, close the app completely. Reopen it from your app drawer and see if the prompt returns. If it doesn't, you probably caught an overlay. Never type banking details into screens that appear suddenly or seem out of place.

Attackers frequently distribute malware through WhatsApp links, SMS messages and email attachments pretending to be invoices, refunds or delivery updates. If you receive a link you weren't expecting, open your browser manually and search for the service instead. Avoid installing anything that comes from a message, even if it appears to be from someone you know. Compromised accounts are a common delivery method.

DATA BREACH EXPOSES 400,000 BANK CUSTOMERS’ INFO

Sturnus is still a young malware family, but it already stands out for how much control it gives attackers. It sidesteps encrypted messaging, steals banking credentials with multiple backup methods, and maintains a strong grip on the device through administrator privileges and constant environmental checks. Even if the current campaigns are limited, the level of sophistication here suggests a threat that is being refined for larger operations. If it reaches wide distribution, it could become one of the most damaging Android banking trojans in circulation.
