Trump freezes Afghan visas after DC shooting — as he quietly eyes land strikes in Venezuela

The Trump administration is taking an even firmer stance on immigration in the wake of a fatal shooting near the White House Wednesday, which took the life of one National Guard member and injured another.

Additionally, the White House signaled it may ramp up its operations targeting alleged drug smugglers in the Caribbean, following months of strikes against vessels accused of trafficking drugs into the U.S.

Here’s what happened this week.

The Trump administration is moving to impose more limitations on migrants attempting to enter the U.S., after an Afghan national was identified as the suspect in Wednesday’s deadly shooting.

Law enforcement officials identified the shooting suspect as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, who entered the U.S. legally in 2021 under the Biden administration's Operation Allies Welcome program, which aimed to facilitate resettling Afghan refugees in the U.S.

The Department of State has paused all U.S. visas for individuals traveling on Afghan passports, the State Department and Secretary of State Marco Rubio posted to X Friday.

VANCE’S PAST WARNINGS REIGNITE AFTER AFGHAN NATIONAL NAMED AS SUSPECT IN DC GUARD SHOOTING

U.S. Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, died Thursday due to injuries stemming from Wednesday’s shooting. U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe remains in critical condition as of Friday, per U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro.

As a result of the shooting, Trump said in a social media post Thursday that he would permanently pause migration from "all Third World Countries."

LIBERAL COMMENTATORS BLAME TRUMP FOR NATIONAL GUARD SHOOTING

Likewise, the head of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Joseph Edlow, said Thursday that in accordance with orders from Trump, he has "directed a full scale, rigorous reexamination of every Green Card for every alien from every country of concern."

The White House did not provide additional information regarding which countries would be impacted, and referred Fox News Digital to Trump’s social media post.

Trump also signaled that his administration would start conducting land operations as it ramps up its operations targeting alleged drug traffickers in the Caribbean

LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONDING AFTER 2 NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERS SHOT NEAR WHITE HOUSE

Since September, the Trump administration has conducted more than 20 strikes against alleged drug boats in Latin American waters, and has beefed up its military presence in the Caribbean as part of Trump’s effort to crack down on the influx of drugs into the U.S.

"You probably noticed that now people aren't wanting to be delivering by sea, and we'll be starting to stop them by land also," Trump said Thursday. "The land is easier, but that's going to start very soon."

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital regarding whether the White House was considering land strikes or deploying U.S. troops within Venezuela. However, Trump has previously refused to rule out dispatching U.S. ground troops into Venezuela.

The New York Times reported Friday that Trump spoke with Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro in the past week.

New video emerges of DC National Guard shooting as soldier clings to life

Dramatic eyewitness video has emerged showing part of the brazen daylight ambush attack that left one National Guard member dead in Washington, D.C., and another fighting for his life.

The footage, taken by an eyewitness in a passing vehicle and obtained by the Wall Street Journal, shows a man in dark clothing with what appears to be a revolver in his hand, as two Guardsmen scramble for cover.

One Guardsman can then be seen sprinting around a corner down a street and returning fire. Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, has been named as a suspect.

The horrific scene, which took place about three blocks north of the White House, captures Lakanwal raising his arm. Seconds later, he opened fire on two West Virginia National Guard members, the outlet reported.

WHITE HOUSE BLASTS MS NOW CORRESPONDENT'S 'BEYOND SICK' REACTION TO DC SHOOTING OF NATIONAL GUARDSMEN

The video then briefly captures the fallen troops lying on the sidewalk. The incident, which has rocked the nation, unfolded on 17th Street NW near Farragut West Metro Station at around 2:15 p.m.

The shooter fired off 10 to 15 rounds with a .357 revolver, according to federal charging documents cited by Reuters.

Police said that one of the Guardsmen returned fire, hitting the suspect and ending the ambush.

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom died from her injuries on Thursday while Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe remains in critical condition.

Lakanwal entered the United States in September 2021 under Operation Allies Welcome, the Biden administration’s Afghan evacuation and resettlement program. Prosecutors say he traveled across the country shortly before the attack and had no prior criminal record.

He now faces charges including first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed. Attorney General Pam Bondi has said the Department of Justice intends to seek the death penalty.

WHERE THE TRUMP ADMIN'S COURT FIGHT OVER DC NATIONAL GUARD STANDS IN WAKE OF SHOOTING

Beckstrom and Wolfe are members of the West Virginia National Guard, which was deployed to the nation’s capital to tackle crime in the city following an executive order from President Donald Trump earlier this year.

Rep. Riley Moore, R-W.Va., said Saturday told "FOX & Friends Weekend" on Saturday that Wolfe is "hanging on," adding that his family is calling for prayer.

"His father is a deputy sheriff in the county next to mine and Andy wanted to follow in [those] footsteps and serve his nation as a National Guardsman," Moore told "FOX & Friends Weekend."

"Andy is hanging on. And he is a fighter and his family has told me that time and time again, he is a fighter," Moore added. "But above all what they want here is for everybody to continue to pray. I believe in the power of prayer and I can promise you his parents believe in the power of prayer... Please keep praying."

West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey also told "Fox & Friends Weekend" on Saturday that, "Andrew is fighting for his life right now, and his family and all of his friends, they're trying to harvest as many prayers as possible from all across the country, all across the globe, to help him recover."

Morrisey said Wolfe's condition, as of Saturday, "remains very serious."

"West Virginia cares very deeply about its Guard. And there's just a proud tradition of West Virginians who step up from military service. So when something like this happens, it's really a gut punch to the communities," Morrisey added.

"Most importantly, we need justice to be served. That's critical. I think West Virginians are counting on that. Americans are counting on that," he told Fox News.

Valerie Bertinelli jumps 50 times and Rod Stewart pushes bricks in a pool: Celebrity fitness hacks

Many celebrities are known for their fit physiques, and while some love a brisk jog or a hot yoga class, others have more unusual ways of making sure they can slip into their skinny jeans.

Here are some of the different ways stars stay in shape.

"One Day at a Time" alum Valerie Bertinelli jump-starts her morning with a coffee and some hopping.

Late last month, the 63-year-old shared her new routine on Instagram, saying she jumps up and down 50 times each morning.

CHRISTOPHER SCHWARZENEGGER SHOWS OFF BUFF TRANSFORMATION DURING OUTING WITH FAMOUS FAMILY

"The Google says when you jump 50x or for one minute in the morning, it can increase your blood flow, support bone density (super important at my age), and stimulate your lymphatic system, which helps to flush toxins," the cookbook author said. "It’s a quick (and for me fun) way to transition the body from rest to activity, up your energy, and set in some positivity for the day."

She shared a video of her hopping around in her yard, writing, "I’ve been doing this for about a month and I love it. For years, I’ve been going outside first thing in the morning while my coffee is brewing to breathe in some fresh air and enjoy the birds chitter-chatter, so why not add in a few hops while soaking up the sunrise. So go ahead and jump!"

"(Sorry, I couldn’t resist)," she added.

Rod Stewart isn't slowing down.

One of the ways the 80-year-old keeps fit, is by pushing bricks at the bottom of the swimming pool.

"We do a lot of underwater training, where the trainer throws a brick into the pool and I have to dive in, push the brick to the end of the pool and come up," Stewart told AARP earlier this year of his workout routine.

He added that Frank Sinatra — who thought he always had a sore throat because of his gravelly voice — told him: "Rod, the secret to being a great singer is having powerful lungs. Do lots of underwater swimming, where you hold your breath."

In 2023, Stewart told People magazine that his underwater workouts were designed for the British Special Air Service (SAS).

"You have a big rubber brick, and you've got to swim the length of the pool and push it the length of the pool, on the bottom of the pool," he said. "It's really wonderful. Well, sometimes it's not wonderful because I don't want to do it, but I'd say it's fun."

Aside from swimming, Stewart also takes a page from Usain Bolt and does 100-meter sprints on his private track.

"I got it down to 19 seconds by learning how to push off," the "Do Ya Think I’m Sexy" singer said. "I’m going to try and do 17 seconds, which I think is a world record for an 80-year-old."

Mark Wahlberg’s workouts start at 2:30 a.m. and involve a cold plunge or ice bath, and cryo chamber recovery.

"The Italian Job" star explained to Men’s Journal that the early morning start allows him to have time for himself in the predawn hours while getting his work done and being there for his family as much as possible the rest of the day.

He previously told the magazine: "breakfast is at 3:45 a.m., by 4 I’m training, 5 a.m. is prayers, and I’m golfing at 6."

Wahlberg told "Good Morning America" in September that usually, when he’s waking up, one of his kids is still up if it’s the weekend.

"The only way I can do it is if I get to bed at 7 [p.m.], 'cause I need eight hours of sleep," he explained.

He added, "I learned the hard way over the years, which is why I try to show what I do every day, just so I can show people that it is about the work, it is about the discipline, and this is the only way that I could be successful, both personally and professionally."

In a promotional video for CRYO Arctic, Wahlberg explained that he needs cryo "recovery every day. I hurt my back … but I’m coming back!"

After a stint in the chamber, Wahlberg came out and referred to it as the "best recovery there is."

Cryotherapy exposes the body to extremely cold temperatures for a short period of time to help lower inflammation and soothe sore muscles, in the same way an ice pack would, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The 54-year-old has shared multiple videos on social media of his ice bath routine, often referring to it as "cold life."

In 2023, he told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that cold plunging is "the best thing that’s happened to me. I feel like now I can’t start my day without it."

He added that "it takes care of so many things [like] inflammation."

Wahlberg said he stays in for around five to six minutes. "By the time I start praying and meditating, I’m usually a little bit over [the time]."

"It’s the best way to start the day," he added.

Even when he’s not at home, he’s dedicated to his routine, "whether it’s stealing buckets of ice from the ice machine at a small hotel, or at my daughter’s horse show, or getting the hotel to send me — anything I can do to get it done."

JANE SEYMOUR REVEALS 'WAKE-UP CALL' THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING ABOUT HER HEALTH APPROACH

One of Candace Cameron Bure’s favorite exercises when she’s short on time is jumping rope.

The "Another Sweet Christmas" star shared an Instagram video of her doing her jump-roping workout in 2021.

"First, whips hurt," she joked. "Second, this is the first time doing 12 double-unders in a row. Whoo Hoo! Does a jump in between still make it count? Just say YES."

In another 2021 Instagram video, she wrote, "I’m starting a jump rope journey today. I’ve been jumping basic rope for about 5 years for cardio with Kira [Stokes]. However, I really want to learn steps and get good! Coordination is tough for me at times."

When he’s short on time, Matthew McConaughey drops and does pushups whenever he can.

"I’ll drop and give myself 20 pushups at intervals throughout the day. 9 a.m., bang out 20. Sitting in a boring meeting at 10:30. Bang out 20. I do that 10 times throughout the day, I’ve done 200," the 56-year-old previously told Men’s Journal, according to Wellness Warrior

The "Dallas Buyers Club" star said sometimes he mixes things up "with crunches, squats, whatever. Also, I have a 12-pound medicine ball. I’ll just think, Pick up the medicine ball and don’t put it down for 30 minutes. Try that once. You will have a workout, man."

Kate Upton has a few go-to moves to stay in shape.

The model and actress has shared videos of herself lifting 225 pounds with her hips, and she also does resistance workouts in the pool.

"For most people, pool days mean chilling on the side of the pool," her trainer Ben Bruno wrote in 2021. "For @kateupton though, the work doesn’t stop. Here’s how we beat the heat and get a workout in at the same time. And by ‘we’, I mean Kate; I’ll usually do a few rounds of the workout with her and then just chill on the side of the pool. The pool workouts look easy, but they’re actually really tough."

"This is badass," Bruno wrote on Instagram in 2020 while sharing a video of Upton doing hip thrusts.

"@kateupton did six staggered-stance hip thrusts on each leg with 205 pounds. That’s so strong! This is all the weight she has at home, so after she worked up to doing bilateral hip thrusts for sets of 15 reps with ease over the past few months of quarantine, we switched to a staggered-stance."

Kelly Osbourne has shared her weight-loss journey with fans. The star lost 70 pounds in 2013, partly by hula-hooping.

"I have a Hoopnotica hula hoop. I use it every day, and it's made my back and arms stronger, and my waist has gone down 2 inches!" the former reality star told Self magazine in 2013.

"On Saturday nights, my friends and I put on ridiculous outfits and hula-hoop and dance when everyone else is at ‘da club.’ We call it #HipHopAnonymous," she joked. "Adam Lambert is in it. We live in the same building, and random people show up. The next morning you're like, ‘Oh, my God, I'm so sore,’ but you had the best night ever."

Miley Cyrus wants to feminize the gym — and she does it by going in heels.

"My mantra is, like any athlete, ‘Practice how you perform,’" the "Flowers" singer told W Magazine last year. "So that’s why I practice in my heels. The gym looks really tough, but then I’ve got my ivory Gucci slingbacks because they remind me of Marilyn Monroe."

She added, "I train in heels, mostly. I’m interested in feminizing the workout space because so much of the workout equipment is ugly."

Jenny McCarthy battles bone infection, eyeball growths and nine surgeries in difficult year

This year, Jenny McCarthy is thankful for good health – something she's struggled with in 2025.

The actress has spent the past year dealing with her teeth falling out, multiple surgeries and "growths" on her eyeballs.

"My teeth were falling out, implants falling out," she told People of the beginning of her ordeal. "They finally had to dig into my jawbone and chipped away, and found I had a deep bone infection. I've been on antibiotics for a year, and have had to eat soft foods only."

DONNIE WAHLBERG'S ‘MIDNIGHT’ THANKSGIVING OBSESSION WITH WIFE JENNY MCCARTHY

She added, "I've had nine surgeries this year, on my mouth, I had one infection that turned into another and another, and then I had these growths show up on my eyeballs."

The issues were originally caused, she explained, by a ceramic dental implant.

"As of now, I'm able to chew again," McCarthy said, "but every time we thought it had cleared up, it came back again, I'd be in massive pain with my jaw swelling up, and at the same time I was getting these growths popping up on my eyeballs."

She added, "People should actually feel a little sorry for me!"

The "Masked Singer" judge also told People, who she spoke with ahead of Thanksgiving, that she was looking forward to being able to eat solid food for the holiday.

"I think I'm past the storm," she said. "I'm about to chow down!"

Her plans were to spend the day with husband Donnie Wahlberg – she admitted that "it's been a little tricky-wicky getting together" because of their busy schedules.

"I've been shooting ‘The Masked Singer’ in Los Angeles, he’s been in Canada with ‘Boston Blue.’ So it's been tricky and difficult, which means Thanksgiving and Christmas will mean more to us than ever this year," she explained. McCarthy and Wahlberg have been married for 11 years, and last month, the "Blue Bloods" actor told Fox News Digital about one of the ways they keep their relationship going strong.

"Well, we've both been divorced before, so we did a lot of individual therapy and when we got together we decided, let's do some together, sort of preemptive, because no matter what, every new relationship brings on new challenges, and sometimes we don't even know what activates us, what causes us to react to certain things and brings out vulnerabilities in us," said Wahlberg.

"But intimate new relationships are usually where they surface," he continued. "Some of us are really good at working in a work environment or with friends. We can give advice, and we can handle things, but sometimes you get into a romantic relationship and suddenly things bother you that don't bother you in other parts of your life. And it's because it's the most vulnerable relationship you're going to be in, and that's where those vulnerabilities pop up."

McCarthy and Wahlberg began dating in July 2013 and tied the knot in August 2014. Wahlberg has two sons from his previous marriage to Kimberly Fey, and McCarthy has one son, Evan, from an earlier marriage to John Asher.

What to watch Thanksgiving: Family-friendly movies to stream this weekend

Thanksgiving is a time to get together with loved ones, indulge in a big meal and spend quality time.

In addition to watching football, friends and family can gather around the TV and laugh as they spend meaningful time together watching a lighthearted, heartwarming movie.

Here are a few family-friendly movies to enjoy with your loved ones on Thanksgiving, now streaming on Tubi.

WATCH SEASON 2 OF THE SAINTS ON FOX NATION

"Free Birds" is the perfect movie to stream on Thanksgiving.

Starring Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson and Amy Poehler, the animated movie follows Reggie, a turkey pardoned by the president that year whose life turns upside down when he runs into another turkey named Jake.

The two then partner up on a time-traveling mission to prevent the turkey from ever becoming a part of Thanksgiving dinner. Their mission takes them back in time to just before the first-ever Thanksgiving in 1621 to accomplish their goal, but before they're able to, they are captured.

"Daddy's Home" perfectly blends comedy with heartwarming family fun.

In the movie, Will Ferrell portrays the straight-laced stepfather to two children who have finally started to get close to him. However, he starts to feel insecure when their extremely fit bad-boy father, played by Mark Wahlberg, comes back to town.

The two then face off in a competition to win over the affections of the family, each plotting against the other.

"My character, Brad, is in an almost sickeningly way wants to be the best dad he can be," Ferrell told "Good Morning Britain" in December 2015. "But it's nice to show both these characters, even though they're at odds a little bit, at the end of the day they find common ground and able to kind of in an uplifting way kind of help the kids."

"Tortilla Soup" is a touching tale about family and how food brings loved ones together.

The 2001 film follows three sisters and their relationship with their father, a retired chef who continues to cook for his family despite having lost his sense of smell and taste.

Food is a key focus of the movie, as they all get together for a mandatory family dinner every Sunday even as personal conflicts get in the way and create issues among them.

Ice Cube's first family-friendly movie is a hit.

"Are We There Yet" tells the story of Nick, as he tries to impress his girlfriend, Suzanne, by offering to accompany her two kids on a flight from Portland to Vancouver so they can visit their mom.

After getting banned from the flight, Nick embarks on a long road trip with the kids, experiencing a number of comedic obstacles along the way as the kids continue to push his boundaries.

Before she married Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cheryl Hines starred as the Munro family matriarch in the 2006 comedy "RV."

Also starring Robin Williams, Josh Hutcherson and Kristin Chenoweth, the movie follows the Munro family on a road trip from Los Angeles to the Rockies after the patriarch, Bob, cancels their Hawaiian vacation to secretly travel to Boulder, Colorado, for a business meeting.

A series of mishaps along the way, including clogged toilets, issues with the parking brake and continuous run-ins with the eccentric Gornicke family, all help the family to bond and bring them closer together.

Emma Thompson introduced herself to a whole new audience when she starred in the 2005 children's movie, "Nanny McPhee," in which she played a magical nanny.

Thompson plays the titular character, who arrives to help widower, Mr. Brown, with his seven unruly children who have already driven away 17 different nannies.

While initially hesitant about their new nanny, the children try everything to scare her away too, but once she's gone, they realize they need her help more than ever if they want to keep their family together.

"I love her mystery and her wit, and I love her judicious and consistent patience," Thompson told Oprah.com in August 2010. "And I love the fact that really what she's about is trying to provide children with the tools to solve their own problems. She's not about saying this is what you do."

The holiday season doesn't end with Thanksgiving. Just one month later, families come together again to celebrate Christmas, and what better way to get into the spirit than with a classic Christmas movie?

Here are the must-watch Christmas movies streaming on Fox Nation.

"Christmas at the Greenbrier" tells the story of a former couple finding their way back to each other.

In the movie, a retired professional football player Ben (Josh Murray) unexpectedly crosses paths with his former flame Abby, played by Alicia Leigh Willis, at the historic luxury resort The Greenbrier, during the holidays. After their relationship was derailed by his career years earlier, the two must decide if they are willing to risk their hearts for the second time.

'CHRISTMAS AT THE GREENBRIER' STAR JOSH MURRAY ON GETTING A SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE

Murray told Fox News Digital that he related to the characters of Ben and Abby after getting another chance at love.

"Ben and Abby had a strong connection in the past that didn't work out," Murray said. "They parted ways, they moved away. And they have this chance."

He continued, "And, you know, there's fear. There's fear that it's going to fail. That the same thing is going to happen. That they're going to get hurt again. We want to try to learn our lesson and avoid that pain. But sometimes we have to take the risk of that second chance to have a different outcome."

"Christmas In Big Sky Country" is another must-watch holiday romance movie.

The movie focuses on the community in Big Sky country, who are nervous about a recent power outage on an oil rig. Becca Collins, played by Rebecca Dalton, is one of the locals who is worried about the safety of her brother-in-law on the rig.

In order to lift the town's spirits during the holidays, the oil company sends their PR rep, Logan (Olivier Renaud), into town. After meeting Logan, Becca begins to fall for the PR executive, but as time goes on she begins to wonder if he's trying to help those on the rig or just help protect his company.

Kelsey Grammer stars alongside his daughter for the first time in the Christmas movie "The 12 Days of Christmas Eve."

Similar to "Groundhog Day," the movie stars Kelsey as Brian Conway, a successful businessman, who is given 12 chances by Santa Claus to relive the same day until he's able to repair his relationships with his loved ones and find out what Christmas is truly about.

Kelsey and his real-life daughter Spencer Grammer play fictional father and daughter in the movie.

Republican combat veterans urge troops to ‘stand strong’ after Democrats’ ‘illegal orders’ message

Republican combat veterans in Congress urged service members to "stand strong" for law and order in a response video to Democratic lawmakers' message to troops about disobeying "illegal" orders.

"I’ve flown combat missions, and I know what happens when people disobey an order," Rep. Zach Nunn, R-Iowa, said Tuesday on "Hannity."

"This cannot happen to the men and women who are serving right now."

Nunn, a combat veteran, was among those featured in the Republican-led video urging service members to reject the message released by the Democrats.

FORMER ARMY CAPTAIN WARNS DEMS’ ‘UNPATRIOTIC’ VIDEO TELLING TROOPS TO DEFY ORDERS COULD SPARK CHAOS

Republicans argue the Democrats’ video risks undermining the military’s chain of command, while the Democrats insist they were simply reminding service members not to carry out "illegal" actions.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has called on the military to investigate Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., one of the Democrats featured in the video. Kelly served as a captain in the Navy before he ran for office.

SIX DEMOCRATS URGE MILITARY MEMBERS TO 'REFUSE ILLEGAL ORDERS' IN VIRAL VIDEO; HEGSETH RESPONDS

Rep. Rich McCormick, R-Ga., a Gulf War veteran, specifically criticized Kelly’s role in the video.

"What he said was egregious for multiple reasons," McCormick told "Hannity."

"I thought it was very dishonest of him to say, ‘We have your back.’ No, they don’t," he added, calling the Democrats’ video "absolutely political."

DEMS FINE FIRING TROOPS OVER BIDEN’S VAX ORDER BUT FURIOUS OVER TRUMP ‘TREASON’ TALK, GOP VET SAYS

Along with the Department of War, the FBI said it’s scheduling interviews with the six lawmakers involved in the video.

Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., who posted the video, wrote on X, "The President directing the FBI to target us is exactly why we made this video in the first place."

"He believes in weaponizing the federal government against his perceived enemies and does not believe laws apply to him or his Cabinet."

Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Dakota Meyer called the video "unacceptable," warning it could have "catastrophic" consequences on "The Story" Tuesday.

"The question that needs to be asked to all of them is, do you just not trust our men and women in uniform anymore? Is that the issue or is it the fact that you don't like what the president's doing?"

Female competitor crowned 'World's Strongest Woman' after transgender controversy overshadows event

The original winner of the 2025 World’s Strongest Woman competition in Arlington, Texas, was stripped of the title after allegations that the athlete is transgender came to light.

Andrea Thompson, the 2018 winner, stepped down from the podium at the event over the weekend after Jammie Booker won the title.

Thompson came in second place by just one point to Booker in the open women's category (no weight requirement). A YouTube video from what appears to be Booker's own channel, dating back to 2017, shows Booker claiming to be "trans."

A video showed Thompson stepping off the podium appearing to say, "This is bulls---."

According to Strongman Archives, Booker had not competed in women's events prior to this past June. It is unclear whether Booker had previously competed as a man.

After backlash over the previous 48 hours, Official Strongman announced that Booker would be "disqualified," admitting it was unaware of allegations that Booker was born male. The ruling now gives Thompson her second victory in the competition.

"Had we been aware, or had this been declared at any point before or during the competition, this athlete would not have been permitted to compete in the Woman’s Open category. We are clear - competitors can only compete in the category for the biological sex recorded at birth," Official Strongman said in an announcement Tuesday. "Official Strongman is inclusive and proud to run events which do not discriminate against athletes based on personal characteristics. Any athlete is welcome. But it is our responsibility to ensure fairness and ensure athletes are assigned to men or women’s categories based on whether they are recorded as male or female at birth."

Thompson shared a post from her coach, Laurence Shahlaei, congratulating her on "winning" the event. Shahlaei made the post on Monday, one day after the event. Shahlaei told Fox News Digital just prior to Strongman’s announcement that he had been told Thompson would be crowned the champion and that an official announcement would be made.

"This win hasn’t come without controversy, but I want to make it very clear that while I support and applaud people for being who they want to be, sport is sport and the women’s classes exist for a reason," Shahlaei wrote.

TWO-TIME US OPEN CHAMPION BRYSON DECHAMBEAU CONTINUES FINE-TUNING EVERY EDGE OF HIS GAME

Thompson finished third in 2019 and second in 2022 at the same competition. She won the Masters World's Strongest Woman event, reserved for women 40 years or older.

Booker has competed in three events this year, winning the first back in June and coming in second in the North America's Strongest Woman. On Sept. 14, Booker began a GoFundMe for help get money to compete in the competition.

"After taking 1st in the Rainier Classic regional (and getting my pro card) and 2nd at the North America's Strongest Woman competition, I have qualified for the next level of competition at the Official Strongman Games and I have a good chance of reaching the podium at this event as well," Booker wrote.

"Now comes the difficult task of funding the trip. Registration fees are $285, the flight to Texas will be around $350, and the hotel fees for the 3 day competition and pre competition rules meeting will be $900. I simply cannot afford this on my shoestring planet fitness trainer budget. Winning this competition will open huge doors for my career both as an athlete and as a trainer."

Strongman said it has attempted to reach out to Booker, "but a response has not been received." On Monday, Booker posted a video to Instagram thanking numerous people for their assistance in what was originally a victory.

Booker's TikTok biography reads that Booker, 28, is the "Worlds Strongest Lesbian." In a post from January, Booker wrote, "no im not a man."

Booker's first post on Instagram is a photo posing at a Planet Fitness on July 31, 2022.

Vanity Fair left surprised by latest romantic allegations against scandal-plagued journalist Olivia Nuzzi

Vanity Fair admitted on Friday it was "taken by surprise" last week when newly hired West Coast editor Olivia Nuzzi was accused by her former fiancé of having a romantic relationship with former South Carolina Gov. and Congressman Mark Sanford, whom she covered at a previous publication.

The high-profile journalist parted ways with New York Magazine last year after reports that she had an intimate relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whom she covered for the publication. The scandal led to the end of Nuzzi's engagement to Politico's chief Washington correspondent and Playbook co-author at the time, Ryan Lizza, who has since left the outlet.

Lizza last week claimed he discovered during the 2020 election cycle that Nuzzi had been in a romantic relationship with Sanford. It was the second time Nuzzi, who was appointed to her new role by Vanity Fair editorial director Mark Guiducci this summer, has been accused of crossing the lines of journalism ethics.

EX-FIANCÉ ACCUSES FORMER NY MAGAZINE JOURNALIST OLIVIA NUZZI OF AFFAIR WITH MARK SANFORD

"We were taken by surprise, and we are looking at all the facts," a Vanity Fair spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

Nuzzi has penned a book due for release next week, "American Canto," about the alleged digital romance, without explicitly naming Kennedy. She has not commented on the Sanford allegations.

Nuzzi’s lawyer, Ari Wilkenfeld, told The New York Times that the book "discusses the only instance in her long career as a journalist in which she had an improper relationship with someone she was covering."

POLITICAL REPORTER WHO HAD ALLEGED ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP WITH RFK JR SPEAKS OUT

Wilkenfeld did not immediately respond to a request for additional comment.

Fox News Digital reached out to Nuzzi and Sanford for comment regarding Lizza’s claim but did not immediately hear back. New York Magazine has declined comment.

Meanwhile, Lizza dropped another Substack entry detailing additional claims about Nuzzi over the weekend that included lurid details about alleged digital messages between her and Kennedy.

A Kennedy spokesperson previously denied any sort of physical relationship had occurred and said he had only met Nuzzi once. Nuzzi has maintained that she never had a physical relationship with him but did engage in "personal" communications. Kennedy is married to actress Cheryl Hines.

OLIVIA NUZZI EXITS NY MAGAZINE FOLLOWING RFK JR RELATIONSHIP REVELATIONS

The Status media newsletter reported on Sunday night that some Vanity Fair staffers "already feel that she hasn’t exactly pulled her own weight as anticipated" and has failed to complete an editing assignment.

Guiducci became the outlet's global editorial director in June, and hiring Nuzzi is among his highest-profile decisions to date.

High-powered communications consultant Risa Heller, who is representing Nuzzi, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Vanity Fair did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Sen Mark Kelly links Trump’s ‘death’ post to Charlie Kirk assassination, warns of violence

Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., invoked the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk during a Friday interview and suggested that President Donald Trump’s recent remarks about "sedition" charges against Democrats could encourage political violence.

"You are not to follow illegal orders. It was pretty basic, and the president's first instinct is to politicize this, to threaten political violence on members of the United States Congress," Kelly said on MS NOW's "Morning Joe."

"It was just two months ago, that Charlie Kirk was assassinated — and he talked about political violence — and now his instinct is to call for our execution," Kelly said of Trump.

TRUMP DEFENDS ‘PUNISHABLE BY DEATH’ COMMENT, CALLS DEMOCRATS’ MILITARY VIDEO ‘SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR’

Kirk was shot and killed Sept. 10 on the campus of Utah Valley University. His death prompted condemnation across the political spectrum, with several commentators calling it part of a growing pattern of political violence.

Kelly’s comments come after Trump’s criticism of a group of Democratic lawmakers — including Kelly — who posted a video urging military members to defy "illegal" orders. The video, released Tuesday by Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., has gained over 17 million views on X.

On Thursday, Trump repeatedly responded to the lawmakers' video, calling it "dangerous" for the country. In one post, he wrote, "This is really bad, and dangerous to our country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???"

In a follow-up post, he added, "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!"

Democrats, including Kelly, quickly criticized the comments, arguing the president appeared to call for violence against the six lawmakers involved. Kelly also reiterated his message to troops, saying service members should raise concerns through their chain of command if they believe an order is illegal.

'DARK MOMENT FOR AMERICA': TRUMP DECLARES CHARLIE KIRK'S VOICE 'BIGGER AND GRANDER' AFTER ASSASSINATION

"I think they need to talk to their leadership, talk to their commanding officer about it," Kelly said when asked what advice he had for troops.

"Tell your commanding officer why you think this may be illegal. There are lawyers within the military, the Judge Advocate General Corps."

Trump rejected accusations that he was calling for violence against Democrats. Speaking on Fox News Radio’s "Brian Kilmeade Show" Friday, he said his posts were not meant to stoke violence.

"I’m not threatening them, but I think they’re in serious trouble," he said.

FOLLOWING KIRK’S ASSASSINATION, LAWMAKERS REACT TO LETHAL POLITICAL CLIMATE: 'VIOLENT WORDS PRECEDE VIOLENT ACTIONS'

"In the old days, if you said a thing like that, that was punishable by death," Trump added, arguing he believes the lawmakers "broke the law."

The White House rapid response team also responded to Kelly’s MS NOW appearance on X, writing: "Sen. Mark Kelly — without providing an example of a single ‘illegal order’ President Trump has given — runs to the Fake News to sow distrust within the military of the Commander-in-Chief. Total scumbag."

Miami football staffer avoids disaster after Hurricanes player barrels over her

A Miami Hurricanes staffer was inches from disaster after she was accidentally plowed into by a player during Saturday’s game against the Virginia Tech Hokies.

The incident occurred in the second quarter of Miami’s 34-17 win over Virginia Tech. Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck found wide receiver Malachi Toney in the middle of the field. Toney took the ball and ran it across midfield into Hokies territory.

The end of the play is where the disaster nearly occurred. Toney was pushed out of bounds and his momentum carried into a woman who was on the sideline. She was standing next to punter Dylan Joyce when Toney stumbled at full speed and hit her.

The woman fell backward and nearly hit her head on a railing behind her. The woman bounced back up, and players and other Miami staffers checked on her to make sure she was OK.

College football fans reacted on social media.

Federal probe demands Chicago Teachers Union explain missing financial audits since 2020

FIRST ON FOX – The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) is under investigation by the House Education and Workforce Committee for allegedly failing to show how it has spent union members’ money over the past five years, according to a letter obtained by Fox News Digital.

The committee sent a letter to CTU President Stacy Davis Gates stating that evidence suggests the union failed to provide members with complete financial audits since 2020.

"When unions flout these obligations, they betray the trust of the very people they are meant to serve … Every dollar paid by workers should serve their interests, not those of a select few operating in the shadows," the letter said.

CHICAGO SCHOOLS BLASTED BY PARENTS' RIGHTS WATCHDOG OVER 'APPALLING' LGBT AGENDA REVEALED IN UNEARTHED DOCS

Furthermore, the committee suggested that CTU’s conduct may justify strengthening federal reporting requirements, so members gain access to more timely, detailed financial information.

The letter further stated that, in light of CTU’s "failures" to provide full financial audits since 2019, the committee is examining whether reforms to the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA) are needed to "protect union members’ rights."

"This failure to disclose financial information strips dues-paying members of their basic right to understand how their money is spent. The Committee intends to determine how this breakdown in transparency occurred, which will inform its potential reforms to the LMRDA," the committee wrote.

A full annual audit requires the financial secretary to furnish an audited report published in the union’s newsletter and the Board of Trustees to obtain an annual audit and make it available for members for inspection.

Because CTU is more than five years behind on publishing its full annual audits, in violation of its own bylaws, the committee cited reports that Davis Gates and other CTU leaders allegedly dismissed audit requests from members as racially motivated "dog whistles."

CHICAGO SCHOOLS SILENT ON PUNISHMENT OR PUBLIC CONDEMNATION OF TEACHER WHO MOCKED CHARLIE KIRK'S DEATH

By Dec. 8, 2025, CTU must submit to the committee all unabridged audited financial reports from 2019 through 2024, meeting minutes or equivalent records since Sept. 9 when members requested audits and all written member requests for audits since Sept. 9, 2020, along with the union’s responses.

Labor unions are required by law under the 1959 LMDRA to file annual reports with the secretary of Labor to ensure transparency, prevent abuses and maintain accountability.

CTU did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

The committee’s letter follows a Nov. 12 inspector general report that found Chicago Public Schools (CPS) staff spent $7 million in COVID relief funds on luxury hotel stays, Las Vegas conferences and international trips. Other expenses included limousine rides and spa visits paid for by Chicago taxpayers.

PRELIMINARY DATA SHOWS CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS ENROLLMENT FALLS TO HISTORIC LOW: REPORT

Per the report, at least $18 million was spent on travel between 2021 and 2024 that was not approved.

Fox News Digital also recently reported on Chicago Public Schools’ chronic teacher absences after the Illinois State Board of Education revealed that 43.2 percent of teachers in the district logged 10 or more absences during the 2024–25 school year.

In addition to chronic absences, CPS enrollment continues to decline. Interim CEO Macquline King announced in September that total enrollment is 316,224 — a 2.8% drop from last year.

Antonio Brown cracks joke about Charlie Kirk assassination in livestream with controversial rapper

Antonio Brown kept busy earlier this week while facing an attempted murder charge.

The former NFL wide receiver visited the Florida home of rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine and linked up with YouTube streamer Adin Ross.

Brown and 6ix9ine spent hours together at the home with Ross and others, where the two even took lie detector tests that showed Brown was lying about regretting his infamous shirtless exit from the MetLife Stadium field in 2022. He did, however, tell the truth that he still likes Ben Roethlisberger and enjoyed being with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

Well before the lie detector tests, Brown, 6ix9ine and Ross were outside the home playing pickup football when fans drove past. Given 6ix9ine's run-ins with the law and the recent break-in at the home, all were on high alert.

Brown then approached Ross and asked, "No one's gonna Charlie Kirk me, right?" referencing the political commentator's assassination in September. 6ix9ine made a similar comment earlier when other fans drove past the home.

Kirk was shot and killed while debating college students at Utah Valley University. He was 31 years old.

SHEDEUR SANDERS FINDS SILVER LINING IN $200,000 HOME ROBBERY WHERE HE WAS 'CAUGHT SLIPPING'

Brown was recently extradited from Dubai to the United States to face an attempted murder charge stemming from a May incident at a boxing event hosted by Ross in Miami, where he allegedly shot at the same person who waved a Palestinian flag during Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl halftime performance in February.

Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu was arrested in June on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace by interrupting a lawful assembly, revealing a link between the shooting incident and the Super Bowl.

One video showed Brown appearing to fight in a parking lot as a crowd moved toward an alley. Then a gunshot appeared to ring out, sending spectators running in the opposite direction.

Brown admitted that he had "slammed" one person's security guard. He said he told one of the officers that he hadn't done anything. The Washington Post reported the next month that a warrant had been issued for Brown's arrest.

Brown claimed on social media that Nantambu "[tried] to steal from me and threaten my life."

The former NFL star has had multiple legal issues in the past. He was sued in 2019 over allegations of rape and sexual misconduct, which he eventually settled with his accuser. He pleaded no contest to felony battery and burglary charges in June 2020. Brown was arrested again in 2023 over allegations of unpaid child support.

Ariana Grande silenced a group of photographers while posing on the red carpet at the final "Wicked: For Good" premiere.

Grande, 32, graced the carpet wearing a black-and-white strapless gown and her signature ponytail. In a video shared by The Associated Press, Grande can be seen calling someone over and seemingly requesting the paparazzi photographers stop shouting as she gestured with her hands.

"I promise you'll get your shot," she told the crowd of photographers.

As she went back to posing for photos, the group quieted down. Grande said, "This is so peaceful, see?"

Democrat found texting Jeffrey Epstein faces House censure, committee removal threats

Conservatives are targeting a member of the House Democratic Caucus over her alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Harris, R-Md., told reporters Tuesday that a member of his group would introduce a resolution to censure Del. Stacey Plaskett, D-V.I., the Virgin Islands' nonvoting delegate to the House of Representatives.

Newly released documents show that Plaskett exchanged texts with Epstein during a congressional hearing with Michael Cohen, a former associate of President Donald Trump, in February 2019.

"I think we're going to have a censure resolution on Delegate Plaskett. It could be introduced today," Harris told reporters.

KHANNA, MASSIE, GREENE URGE SENATE TO PASS EPSTEIN BILL UNCHANGED, WARN OF ‘RECKONING’

"I think she needs to be censured by the House and removed from the [House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence] for colluding with a convicted felon during a congressional hearing. That does not reflect well on the House of Representatives."

It's not clear yet if the resolution will be introduced as a standard bill or whether conservatives will deem it "privileged."

If it's a privileged resolution, House GOP leaders will be forced to put the bill on the floor within two legislative days, meaning it could be considered this week.

JEFFREY EPSTEIN SAGA CONTINUES AS CONGRESS RETURNS FROM RECESS

Republicans have seized on Plaskett's messages with Epstein as proof of a double standard by Democrats on the late pedophile financier's case.

House Democrats have been arguing for transparency in pushing to uncover any potential improper links between Trump and Epstein but have been largely silent on Plaskett in the days since her ties to him surfaced.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., dodged questions about Plaskett after his Monday news conference, telling reporters he had not spoken to her.

"I have not had a conversation with Stacey Plaskett. In fact, I think Stacey Plaskett has issued a statement as it relates to this and her statement speaks for itself," he said.

Texts exchanged during the 2019 hearing, in which Cohen accused Trump of a scheme to pay off mistresses to hide evidence of extramarital affairs during his 2016 presidential bid, show Epstein taking a heavy interest in Plaskett's questioning.

Epstein appeared to guide Plaskett's lines of questioning at times. One text showed him saying, "Hes opened the door to questions re who are the other henchmen at trump org."

Plaskett was shown to respond, "Yup. Very aware and waiting my turn."

The texts are part of a trove of documents sent to the House Oversight Committee by Epstein's estate.

Her office said in a statement to The Washington Post regarding the texts that she "received texts from staff, constituents and the public at large offering advice, support and in some cases partisan vitriol, including from Epstein."

"As a former prosecutor she welcomes information that helps her get at the truth and took on the GOP that was trying to bury the truth. The congresswoman has previously made clear her long record combating sexual assault and human trafficking, her disgust over Epstein’s deviant behavior and her support for his victims," Plaskett's office said.

Fox News Digital reached out to Plaskett for comment on Harris' threat.

Legal analyst predicts Trump could win 'considerable' damages from BBC documentary lawsuit

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett predicted President Trump could be entitled to "considerable" damages from BBC should he move forward with a lawsuit against the outlet over an allegedly misleading edit of his Jan. 6 speech featured in a 2024 documentary.

"It's hard to put a value on it at this early juncture, but it's considerable," Jarrett said Monday on "Fox & Friends."

"Two top executives resigned in disgrace when they removed the slander," he continued, referencing the resignations of BBC News CEO Deborah Turness and BBC director-general Tim Davie.

"And yet the BBC still claims it wasn't defamatory, which is absurd. They knew it was wrong."

FORMER UK PRIME MINISTER SLAMS BBC AS ‘LAUGHINGSTOCK’ WHILE TRUMP READIES $1B LAWSUIT OVER JAN 6 VIDEO SCANDAL

The outlet drew heavy backlash for a documentary examining Trump’s Jan. 6, 2021, remarks before the assault on the U.S. Capitol.

"[It's] a clear case of what I think is defamation," Jarrett added.

"They deleted his caution to act peacefully, and then they spliced together the video to give the opposite impression, almost certainly defamatory."

Critics like Jarrett claim the documentary was misleading because it omitted Trump urging supporters to protest "peacefully," and stitched together remarks the president made nearly an hour apart to make it appear like one long statement.

TRUMP'S $5 BILLION LAWSUIT THREAT AGAINST BBC COMES AMID SPATE OF LEGAL WINS OVER MEDIA COMPANIES

Trump has threatened an up to $5 billion lawsuit over the ordeal.

In a previous statement to Fox News Digital, a spokesman for the president's legal team accused the network of editing the documentary – which aired a week before the 2024 United States presidential election – "in order to try and interfere in" the outcome.

A BBC spokesperson said last Thursday that lawyers for the outlet had written to Trump's legal team in response to a letter they had previously received, adding that BBC chair Samir Shah "separately sent a personal letter to the White House making clear to President Trump that he and the corporation are sorry for the edit of the president's speech…"

The spokesperson said it has "no plans" to rebroadcast the documentary at the center of the controversy on any of BBC's platforms, but added that, "While the BBC sincerely regrets the manner in which the video clip was edited, we strongly disagree there is a basis for a defamation claim."

According to Sky News, Shah pledged to combat Trump's legal threats, writing in an email to staff, "There is a lot being written, said and speculated upon about the possibility of legal action, including potential costs or settlements.

"In all this we are, of course, acutely aware of the privilege of our funding and the need to protect our license fee payers, the British public. I want to be very clear with you – our position has not changed. There is no basis for a defamation case and we are determined to fight this."

Turness — one of the company's executives who resigned after the fact — also defended BBC against criticism, stressing that the outlet is "not institutionally biased" and that its journalists are "not corrupt."

"There is no institutional bias. Mistakes are made," she said.

'Grey's Anatomy' star James Pickens Jr. reveals cancer diagnosis

James Pickens Jr. revealed his fight against prostate cancer after his "Grey's Anatomy" character faced a cancer diagnosis in the mid-season finale.

Pickens, 73, who portrays Dr. Richard Webber on the hit ABC medical drama, was diagnosed with prostate cancer following an annual physical in 2024.

"It’s not the kind of news anyone wants to hear, but to be honest, prostate cancer has run through my family," he told Black Health Matters. "My father had it. He had a lot of brothers; several of them had it. I would have been surprised if I hadn’t gotten it."

ERIC DANE VOWS TO ‘FIGHT TO THE LAST BREATH’ IN ONGOING ALS BATTLE

He added, "I’ve got a 90-year-old first cousin, who’s still alive, actually; he had it. His son has it. A couple of his brothers had it. No one, as far as I know, has succumbed to it."

Due to family history with the disease, Pickens is disciplined about monitoring his health.

‘GREY’S ANATOMY' STAR KATE WALSH SHARES ‘VERY SUBTLE’ WARNING SIGNS AHEAD OF BRAIN TUMOR DIAGNOSIS

"My urologist said, ‘Because you were so diligent in that piece of your health, it was to your advantage. We were able to catch it so early because you were being tested.'"

During an annual physical earlier this year, doctors referred Pickens to a urologist after they discovered the actor's PSA (prostate-specific antigen) levels were elevated.

"It revealed, as he called it, something suspicious," he recalled.

After a biopsy revealed a tumor, a subsequent PET scan was ordered and showed the cancer had not spread.

Doctors gave Pickens two options: he could pursue radiation or undergo a radical prostatectomy. He ultimately chose surgery to remove his prostate, which was performed robotically by two urologists.

"We caught it really early, and so they thought that would be the best route to take," he said before noting, "I do have a rare variant that you don’t see very often. They wanted to err on the side of caution and keep an eye on it."

Pickens added, "It was rare enough that they wanted to make sure that they were crossing all the T’s and dotting all their I’s. But they hadn’t seen one that was detected as early as mine."

While his journey with cancer is personal, Pickens hoped by sharing that he could help remove the stigma men have about discussing their health.

"One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime," he said in a PSA filmed for Black Health Matters. "For Black men, the risk is even higher. Fortunately, prostate cancer is highly treatable, but early detection is the key, and sometimes there are no noticeable symptoms."

He added, "Today, I am living proof that early detection works. If you’re Black, or prostate cancer runs in your family, talk to your doctor about getting screened starting at age 40."

Trump issues fresh pardons for Jan 6 defendants, including woman accused of threatening FBI on social media

President Donald Trump has granted fresh pardons to two Jan. 6 defendants facing charges on other issues.

Suzanne Kaye, a Jan. 6 defendant, was also sentenced to 18 months in prison for allegedly threatening to shoot FBI agents in social media posts.

The Biden administration's Department of Justice stated that on Jan. 31, 2021, the day before Kaye was set to meet with FBI agents regarding a tip that she was at the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot, she posted videos on social media in which she said she would "shoot" FBI agents if they came to her house. The FBI learned of Kaye's social media posts on Feb. 8, 2021, and arrested Kaye at her Florida home on Feb. 17, 2021.

A White House official told Fox News Digital that Kaye is prone to stress-induced seizures and suffered one while the jury read its verdict in 2023. The official said that the case was one of disfavored political speech, which is protected under the First Amendment.

TRUMP PARDONS NEARLY ALL JAN. 6 DEFENDANTS ON INAUGURATION DAY

U.S. Special Attorney Ed Martin posted about the pardon on Saturday, thanking Trump in a post on X.

"The Biden DOJ targeted Suzanne Kaye for social media posts — and she was sentenced to 18 months in federal lock up. President Trump is unwinding the damage done by Biden’s DOJ weaponization, so the healing can begin," Martin wrote.

Jan. 6 defendant Daniel Wilson remained incarcerated after Trump pardoned convicted rioters because he pleaded guilty to firearms charges. A White House official told Fox News Digital that the president made the decision to grant Wilson an additional pardon because the firearms were discovered during a search of Wilson's home related to the Capitol riot.

Despite being included in the sweeping pardon granted to Jan. 6 defendants by Trump on Jan. 20, 2025, Wilson remained incarcerated due to the firearms charge and was set to be released in 2028. Prior to his sentencing on Jan. 6-related charges, for which he received five years in prison, Wilson pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of an unregistered firearm.

While the Trump administration Justice Department initially said that the firearm charge should not count under the Jan. 6 pardon, it later reversed course, citing "further clarity," without going into details about what caused the shift.

TRUMP ISSUES SWEEPING PARDONS FOR 2020 ELECTION ALLIES — WHAT THE MOVE REALLY MEANS

In his original pardon, Trump declared that pursuant to his authority under Article II, Section 2, of the U.S. Constitution, he was commuting the sentences of those "convicted of offenses related to events that occurred at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021." That pardon included Wilson's Jan. 6 charges, but not the firearms-related ones.

U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich, a Trump appointee involved in Wilson's case, rejected the expanded definition of what exactly Trump was pardoning, saying it stretched the bounds of the order too far. In her opinion, Friedrich criticized the use of the phrase "related to" from Trump's original pardon to expand its meaning.

"The surrounding text of the pardon makes clear that 'related to' denotes a specific factual relationship between the conduct underlying a given offense and what took place at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021," Friedrich wrote in her opinion.

An appeals court later supported her objections, saying that Wilson had to remain behind bars during the appeal process.

Wilson previously identified himself as a member of the Oath Keepers and the Gray Ghost Partisan Rangers militia, according to Politico.

"Dan Wilson is a good man. After more than 7 months of unjustified imprisonment, he is relieved to be home with his loved ones," Wilson's attorneys, George Pallas and Carol Stewart, told Politico in a statement. "This act of mercy not only restores his freedom but also shines a light on the overreach that has divided this nation."

Fox News Digital reached out to the Justice Department and Wilson's legal team for comment.

Former UK prime minister slams BBC as ‘laughingstock’ while Trump readies $1B lawsuit over Jan 6 video scandal

Former United Kingdom Prime Minister Liz Truss is backing President Donald Trump’s plan to sue the BBC, saying, "they’ve lied, they’ve cheated, they’ve fiddled with footage" as the network faces fallout from an editing scandal.

The BBC is accused of combining two different parts of Trump’s Jan. 6, 2021, speech. They removed his call to march "peacefully and patriotically" and instead inserted the phrase "fight like hell" from nearly an hour later in the address.

"There are lots of people in Britain who are cheering President Trump on and who want him to sue the BBC because they're a huge problem," said Truss on "Fox & Friends Weekend" Saturday.

Now, Trump said he feels "obligated" to sue the British broadcaster for tampering with the footage. He’s threatened to sue the BBC for $1 billion in damages.

BBC APOLOGIZES TO TRUMP AMID $1 BILLION LEGAL THREAT

The BBC apologized to Trump and said it has no plans to rebroadcast the Panorama documentary titled "Trump: A Second Chance?" with the edited clips. BBC Director-General Tim Davie and BBC News CEO Deborah Turness both resigned in the wake of the backlash.

A BBC spokesperson said the company’s chair, Samir Shah, has "separately sent a personal letter to the White House making clear to President Trump that he and the corporation are sorry for the edit of the president's speech on 6 January 2021, which featured in the programme."

The network, however, is rejecting Trump’s calls for compensation.

Despite the apology, Truss believes the president should still move forward with legal action.

BBC ROCKED BY JAN. 6 EDIT SCANDAL AS BRITISH JOURNALIST CALLS OUT NETWORK’S ‘REMARKABLY BRAZEN’ MOVE

"I want to see him progress with this legal suit because I don’t think they’ve been held to account," Truss said.

"I bet they carry on printing and publishing and broadcasting fake news, not just about the president, but about the MAGA movement, about the changes that are going on in the world, which many of the British public want to see here in Britain."

Truss accused the BBC of being politically biased against conservatives in both the United Kingdom and the United States. She also called for the network to be "defunded."

TRUMP ANNOUNCES LAWSUIT OF UP TO $5 BILLION AGAINST BBC OVER EDITED JAN 6 SPEECH DOCUMENTARY

"The BBC used to be the paragon of journalism across the world. It was respected. It’s now become a laughingstock, and it needs to be put out of its misery," she said.

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett shared Truss’s view, saying an apology is not enough and calling for compensation from the BBC.

"This was clearly defamatory under British law. The BBC knows that, which is why the network apologized, removed the story," said Jarrett.

"That does not, however, erase the past damages that Trump sustained, which are considerable."

Trump said he plans to discuss the matter with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer this weekend before filing his lawsuit.

Most Brown University conservatives fear expressing beliefs on campus: school poll

According to a poll conducted by Brown University's student newspaper, only a tiny percentage of students on campus identify as conservatives, and most of those conservatives do not feel comfortable expressing their opinions in public.

The poll, conducted by the Brown Daily Herald, found that only 0.8% of students on the approximately 11,000-student campus identify as "very conservative." Only 5.3% identify as "somewhat conservative." While moderates make up 13.3% of the student population, students who identified as "somewhat liberal or progressive" totaled 41.1% of the student population. More than 36% described themselves as "very liberal or progressive."

The poll's sample size for the question about political ideology was 1,369 students.

Conductors of the poll also asked students how comfortable they were expressing their political beliefs.

CONSERVATIVE HARVARD STUDENTS EXPOSE FEAR OF ACADEMIC REPRISAL, SOCIAL SHUNNING OVER RIGHT-WING BELIEFS

Nearly 72% of "very or somewhat conservative" students are afraid to share their opinions in social settings, while only 40.2% of their "somewhat liberal or progressive" counterparts say the same. About 37% of "very liberal or progressive" students say the same.

The majority of "very or somewhat conservative" students, 57.5% in total, said they are uncomfortable sharing their political opinions in class, a stark contrast to only 21.1% of "somewhat liberal or progressive" students and 26% of "very liberal or progressive" students who feel the same.

The poll's sample size for the question about expressing political opinions was 1,364 students.

HARVARD FACULTY ADMIT STUDENTS SKIPPING CLASS, NOT ENGAGING WITH OPPOSING VIEWS, AND STILL GETTING GOOD GRADES

Notably, about 70% of Brown students said it is important that their political views align with the views of their friends.

The poll also asked students about sexual orientation. When broken down by class, the results show that members of the class of 2029 identify as something other than straight at a 10.7% higher rate than students in the class of 2026. More than 44% of first-year students say they are not straight, while 33.7% of students set to graduate in the spring said the same.

Only 60.5% of students at Brown identify as straight, a vastly lower proportion than the public at large. By comparison, a Gallup poll released earlier this year found that more than 90% of Americans identify as straight.

Brown did not return a request for comment.
