FBI takes 4 illegal immigrants in Portland into custody after lasers aimed at CBP aircraft

An FBI raid of a residence linked to a suspect accused of pointing a laser at a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) helicopter led to the detention of four individuals found to be in the U.S. illegally.

The individuals have since been taken into ICE Seattle custody. FBI Portland, the field office that carried out the raid, told Fox News Digital that the U.S. Attorney’s Office would likely file charges on Tuesday.

"The federal government will not tolerate violence against federal officers, nor will we tolerate assaults on personal, commercial, or government aircraft," FBI Portland wrote in a post on X.

FBI Portland said that during the search, agents recovered the laser pointer that was allegedly used in the incident.

BONDI DECLARES 'NEW ERA OF POLITICAL VIOLENCE' AS FEDERAL AGENTS DEPLOY TO ICE FACILITIES NATIONWIDE

FBI Director Kash Patel spoke out about the incident, warning those who target U.S. law enforcement that they will face consequences.

"Targeting law enforcement will never be tolerated. In Portland, FBI agents and our federal partners swiftly took into custody four individuals here illegally who allegedly aimed lasers at a CBP aircraft. Let this serve as a warning: if you come after the men and women who protect this nation, we will come after you, and you will be put away," Patel told Fox News Digital.

The announcement of FBI Portland’s search comes one day after Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a memo on ending political violence against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.

In the memo, Bondi issued a directive to the ATF, DEA, FBI and U.S. Marshals Service to "immediately direct all necessary officers and agents to defend ICE facilities and personnel whenever and wherever they come under attack, including in Portland and Chicago."

PORTLAND MAYOR CONDEMNS FEDERAL INTERVENTION, CLAIMS VIDEOS OF ANTI-ICE RIOTS WERE FROM YEARS AGO

Portland has recently seen major protests outside the city’s ICE facility. President Donald Trump said Saturday morning he planned to send troops to Portland at the request of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem.

Trump also said he directed Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to provide "all necessary troops to protect war-ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists." Trump said he was authorizing full force, if necessary.

However, Portland Mayor Keith Wilson dismissed Trump’s plan, claiming there is no lawlessness or violence in the city.

"This is an American city," Wilson said. "We do not need any intervention. This is not a military target."

The Federal Aviation Administration warns that while laser pointers seem harmless, when pointed at the sky they pose a "serious threat" to pilots and their passengers. The FAA said pilots reported 12,840 laser strikes in 2024.

"Pointing a laser at an aircraft is a federal crime. U.S. law enforcement agencies and the Federal Aviation Administration may seek criminal and civil prosecution against violators," the FAA’s website reads.

Individuals who shine lasers at aircraft can face FAA fines of more than $32,000 per violation. In 2021, the FAA issued $120,000 in fines for laser strikes.

Fox News Digital reached out to ICE for comment.

Philadelphia plans to raise the Chinese flag in a bizarre celebration of communism

On Sept. 30, Philadelphia’s Office of Immigrant Affairs plans to hoist the red flag emblazoned with the star of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in front of city hall to celebrate the anniversary of the establishment of the CCP.

You might think this is some sort of sick joke, but no. It’s not even the first; the City of Brotherly Appeasement has flown the CCP flag twice before (in 2017 and 2019). It was a disgrace then, and it’s a disgrace now. All city residents should reject the leadership of Philadelphia’s campaign to betray our founding principles to virtue signal tolerance and diversity — a demonstration of weakness that China is only too happy to exploit.

In Philadelphia, we hoist many things, notably cheesesteaks, Super Bowl flags and occasionally ourselves on greased streetlight poles in moments of celebration. Historically, Philadelphians jubilantly lifted the first printed copies of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution fresh from John Dunlap’s press. All of these raisings carried more than a little air of defiance against the sort of authoritarianism represented by the CCP.

REPUBLICAN LEADER TARGETS TAX-EXEMPT STATUS OF CCP-LINKED NONPROFIT TIED TO VIOLENT PROTESTS

Yet as we prepare to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary next year, that quintessential spirit of 1776 appears to be in jeopardy. Communist China has emerged under President Xi Jinping as the polar opposite of everything Philadelphia has traditionally represented. The CCP is increasingly recognized as the single greatest national security threat to the United States in the 21st century.

The proposed event is being sponsored by the Pennsylvania United Chinese Coalition, which is part of a network of such organizations attempting to boost the CCP’s reputation and reach within the U.S. under the guise of cultural exchange. But their website also reveals their staunch opposition to Taiwan’s independence and their commitment to "peaceful" cross-strait unification.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINION

The flag-raising has been justified as a demonstration of support for Philadelphia’s strong and vibrant Chinese community, but it is no such thing. The city already has appropriate celebrations for Chinese Philadelphians, notably the Lantern Festival highlighting traditional culture that has become so popular it is now an annual event that benefits the upkeep of Philadelphia landmarks.

XI JINPING HAILS 'UNSTOPPABLE' CHINA AS TRUMP ACCUSES BEIJING OF CONSPIRING AGAINST US

Even more discordantly, many Chinese Americans are in Philadelphia because they wanted the freedom and opportunity denied to them by the CCP. Very few such individuals seem to have much interest in celebrating the regime that persecuted them, let alone returning to China. This flag-raising is at best a veiled insult to them and at worst a chilling reminder that the CCP is here in the city where they found refuge.

Just because the raising of the CCP flag has happened before is no justification for doing it again this year of all years. Whatever hopes there might have been for cultural or economic exchange in the past, we can harbor no such illusions about what such outreach from China means now.

Less than a mile from City Hall — the site of the proposed CCP flag-raising — Betsy Ross stitched the first American flag in a small house on Arch Street, legendarily at the direct request of George Washington. The Stars and Stripes was then adopted by the nascent United States on June 14, 1777, and was proudly flown during the Revolutionary War that brought us our independence. Almost adjacent to Betsy Ross’s house is the site of Dunlap’s press that disseminated the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the Constitution in 1788.

At this critical moment in America’s history, we are both approaching our semiquincentennial (we might as well learn to pronounce that now) and coming to grips with the threat posed to us by China. Rather than defiling this sacred ground, this birthplace of liberty, by bending the knee to Beijing, Philadelphia’s Office of Immigrant Affairs would do much better to reject any request to raise aloft an odious symbol of communist oppression and instead gather all Philadelphians together for a celebration of that timeless symbol of liberty: the American flag.

Serial killer FBI informant tricked feds for years while preying on victims: former agent

A former FBI agent says a serial killer who doubled as an FBI informant for years manipulated agents into believing he was helping them, all the while preying on unsuspecting victims.

Scott Kimball will likely spend the rest of his life in a federal prison in Colorado after he was sentenced to 70 years in 2009. He pleaded guilty to killing four people between 2003 and 2004, and his number of victims could be much higher, according to former FBI Special Agent Jonny Grusing.

"He made a game out of tricking the FBI," Grusing told Fox News Digital, adding that Kimball's case was unprecedented. "As long as he won the game in front of him, that’s all that mattered."

IDAHO POLICE CALL OUT 'GROSS INACCURACIES' IN KOHBERGER TV SPECIAL, SPECIAL PROSECUTOR INVESTIGATING LEAKS

"To have someone who enjoyed manipulating us, putting stuff in our files, and then making people disappear was beyond anything I’d seen," Grusing said.

Kimball, now 58, was a known serial fraudster who spent time in and out of prison during his youth and early adulthood. In the 1990s, he practiced working the criminal justice system, becoming an informant for local police and blaming his own crimes on cellmates.

After a 2001 arrest for check fraud in Alaska, he befriended his cellmate Steve Ennis, who had been charged in a drug case. To snake his way into a role as an FBI informant, a calculated Kimball convinced Ennis that he could make the drug case go away, and that he had powerful connections that could have witnesses "taken care of." During the jail stint, he also befriended Ennis' girlfriend, a stripper named Jennifer Marcum.

After planting the seeds of a murder-for-hire plot, Kimball reported to the FBI that Ennis was planning to have witnesses killed, and shortly thereafter, was granted confidential informant status. He was moved to a lower-security prison and eventually released.

NEWLY RELEASED DOCUMENTS REVEAL IDAHO KILLER'S DISTURBING BEHAVIOR BEFORE CAMPUS MURDERS

"Our primary victim in our case was Jennifer Marcum," Grusing said. "Mainly, he convinced Steve [Ennis] to hook him up with Jennifer to get Jennifer out of stripping. So, at the same time he's making Steve look like the bad guy, he's taking Jennifer and isolating her and killing her."

By February 2003, Scott was a bona fide informant operating throughout the western United States, and Marcum was dead.

During his several-year span as an informant, Kimball was responsible for killing four people, including Marcum. He would later confess to killing at least 21 people, and according to Grusing, told his own attorneys, he was responsible for 45 to 50 killings. His other alleged victims all remain unnamed.

After his eventual arrest, authorities would learn that Scott killed LeAnn Emry, another stripper, whom he shot and left for dead in a remote desert area, just one month prior to Marcum's murder.

In August of that year, Kayci Mcloed went missing. Her murder was eventually linked to Kimball, and he confessed to it.

In 2004, Kimball killed his own uncle, Terry Kimball.

In each case, the serial killer provided "breadcrumbs" to the FBI that ended up in the case files, including that he was the last person to be seen with two of the victims.

DAUGHTER OF IRISH MAN BEATEN TO DEATH BY AMERICAN WIFE, HER EX-FBI AGENT FATHER REJECTS SELF-DEFENSE CLAIMS

In 2006, pressure from victims' family members forced the FBI to begin investigating its own informant.

"And that's when two dads came to the FBI office to talk to my boss and say, not only was Scott responsible for Jennifer's disappearance, but another girl named Kayci was last with Scott, and that reporting was in the case file," said Grusing. "But Scott had mastered such that, again, he enjoyed the game, and it was like leaving little breadcrumbs to say, 'I'm so good at this, I can tell you about these homicides, and you'll never know I'm doing them.'"

In March of 2006, Kimball was arrested in California on fraud-related charges.

While he was in jail, the FBI built a case against him, and in 2009, he was officially charged with the murders.

But the killer's manipulation of the FBI continued for years, as Grusing and others tried to get him to give up the locations of his victims' remains.

"We knew he was manipulating us, pointing us in different directions, but he's the only one who knew what happened to them," said Grusing. "So even though it was painful to be in front of him and let him win all the time, as long as he thought he was squirming, he would always talk. So that's how I stayed with this man for 15 years."

Eventually, McLeod and Emry's remains were recovered.

At one point during Grusing's decade-and-a-half quest to get justice for more of Kimball's victims, the killer asked him why he had never been named like other serial killers.

Grusing asked what name Kimball would give himself.

"He said, ‘The Opportunity Killer, because I just kill people when I have the opportunity.’"

Marcum's remains have never been found.

Giants' Jaxson Dart makes immediate impact in first NFL start

New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart made an immediate impact in the first start of his NFL career on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Dart led the Giants on a nine-play, 89-yard drive and finished it with a 15-yard touchdown run to help put New York up 7-0 early in the first quarter. He was 2-of-2 passing for 20 yards and had three carries for 28 yards on his first drive.

It was a good sign for the Giants, who have been looking for a consistent spark on offense. New York decided this was the week to start the former Ole Miss standout after Russell Wilson’s poor play in the team’s 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last week.

He came into the game brimming with confidence.

"I’m ready," Dart told reporters on Wednesday. "It wasn’t anything extra. You always say like, ‘I’m going to prepare each week the same.’ But in all reality, you have different responsibilities as the starter."

NFL FANS SCRUTINIZE STEELERS' MIKE TOMLIN'S COACHING DECISIONS AS TEAM HANGS ON FOR WIN

The team came into the game 27th in points scored and 12th in yards gained. Wilson led the league in passing yards before the team’s game against the Chiefs.

"I want to do my best to be a spark," Dart said. "I want to create excitement on the field. I want to be explosive when opportunities are there and just try to bring a little bit of swagger."

Giants head coach Brian Daboll wouldn’t elaborate on why the decision came now.

"He just needs to go out there and do his job: just make good decisions, throw the ball where he needs to throw it, make loose plays if he needs to make loose plays and take care of it — and not have to do any more than that," Daboll said. "There’ll be a lot of things to learn from. I’ve done this once before. It’s not perfect, but I know he’s doing everything he can do to get ready to play this game and that’s all you can ask for."

How Detroit’s car scene is shifting gears on America’s loneliness epidemic

Car culture in Detroit is helping people find community as the U.S. faces a loneliness epidemic, according to those who spoke with Fox News Digital last month.

"I think it is a challenge. And there's so much divisiveness going on. It's definitely a challenge. However, these types of environments foster that. And the more we do it, the more folks can rub shoulders with folks you wouldn't ordinarily rub shoulders with," William told Fox News Digital while looking at a variety of vintage and classic cars at an event called Drift Indy in Pontiac.

Drift Indy began as an online group promoting the car drifting sport in 2005. The group started hosting five events a year in Indiana and eventually expanded around the Midwest.

The group used the M1 Concourse facilities in Pontiac to host their event. There, several drivers burned rubber on the racetrack drifting, leaving a trail of smoke and black streaks on the surface. As Detroit residents and suburbanites flocked to Drift Indy in August, Fox News Digital wanted to ask car enthusiasts about how drifting and cars provide community for them.

WITHOUT GOD, NEW YORK'S DREAM TURNS HOLLOW. MY WALK ACROSS AMERICA PROVES IT

"The car hobby brings people from all walks of life. So I do think there are some challenges, especially with the younger generation. You know, I'm hoping that they'll be able to take this hobby and move it and push it forward so that it can be enjoyed for years and years to come," William added.

Deidra, one of the drivers that participated in the Drift Indy drifting session, started "Girls Gone Drifting" to provide a community for women.

"Drifting is a very male-dominated sport. When I first started drifting, there were only a few other girls locally who were doing it, and it was extremely intimidating," Diedra said.

Fox News Digital attended Drift Indy, M1 Concourse, and the Woodward Dream Cruise events in the Detroit suburbs to ask attendees whether they face challenges in building community due to the rise of technology and decline of various social activities such as bowling leagues, rotary clubs, and church attendance.

A Gallup poll published in 2024 showed that daily loneliness afflicts one in five adults. The poll also showed an uptick in U.S. adults feeling loneliness "a lot of the day yesterday" than previous years.

In 2023, the Surgeon General declared a loneliness epidemic in the U.S.

GEN Z TRADES NIGHTCLUBS FOR DAYTIME ‘SOFT CLUBBING’

In the midst of loneliness among adults, Fox News Digital interviewed event organizers like Deidra to discuss why they orchestrate activities centered on car culture.

"So Girls Gone Drifting—it's a community of ladies that drive together and support each other, and it is just like a non-judgment zone where girls can just come out and drive and not have to worry about anything else. The community really is the best. I've met so many lifelong friends and just people that I can't imagine my life without that," she said.

The M1 Concourse event, led by Paul Zlotoff, is held annually to showcase vintage, luxury, and custom cars. Many cars were on display near the M1 Concourse racetrack.

"I know a fair amount of that because we run an event center. We call this the epicenter of motorsports experiential opportunities. Bowling leagues are dropping, rotary clubs are declining, so we all know that, in part because now people can sit at home on their computer," Paul Zlotoff, CEO of M1 Concourse, told Fox News Digital.

According to Bowlingball.com, bowling leagues, once a lifeline of community building in the US, have been dwindling over the past 30 years. The outlet analyzed data from the United States Bowling Congress, citing a decline in youth committing to the sport and a significant drop in bowling memberships.

Zlotoff expounded further on the importance of connecting with people in person.

He continued, "I'm a car guy and I started buying cars. Every one of those cars has a story. And every one of those cars is collected by somebody else that I know. We're going to interact, and I'm going to invite him over here when we're doing something cool, and he's probably going to tell me about something he's working on. So it creates connections. And it's through those mutual interests that we find that community."

"It brings people together inadvertently behind cars as the fabric," Earl, an M1 Concourse organizer, told Fox News Digital.

'NOBODY'S IN CONTROL' AS CHAOTIC STREET TAKEOVERS TERRORIZE CITIES ACROSS US: CRIME EXPERT

Not too far from M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Fox News Digital spoke with people in Birmingham, where part of the Woodward Dream Cruise occurred.

The Woodward Dream Cruise is considered North America’s largest car enthusiast event, attracting nearly one million visitors and thousands of collector cars to metro Detroit.

Catherine brought her family to the Woodward Dream Cruise, including her mother. Attending the Woodward Dream Cruise is a tradition of the family.

"I saw so many people sitting in their chairs along Woodward during the day, all times of day, just taking them in and getting them out of the house and connecting with the person sitting in the chair. So I think it's really a great thing," Catherine said.

In the heart of downtown Detroit, Fox News Digital spoke with Kris Lamarr, a musician who hosts street racing and car events in Detroit.

"I got my Cadillac Python from my pops, and I've been building on it since then. I know a lot of other people in the city who have had cars passed down, so I think it's just more so, even like a lineage of things, a lot more sentimental than just metal and gears," Lamarr said.

Hungarian official touts 'golden age' of US relationship, credits Trump with boosting NATO and investment

UNITED NATIONS — A Hungarian official sat down with Fox News Digital at the United Nations this week as his country is poised to follow the U.S. in declaring Antifa a terrorist organization. He said the move highlights the strengthening ties between the U.S. and Hungary now that the Biden administration has ended.

"I think this is another issue which shows that the current Trump administration and the government of Prime Minister [Viktor] Orbán are close to each other when it comes to major political issues," Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó told Fox News Digital. "It was obvious that we do consider Antifa as an extremist organization, spreading an extremism ideology based on which they encourage their members and activists to attack innocent people. And this is simply unacceptable."

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, a strong ally of President Donald Trump, said in a radio interview on Sept. 19 that it was time for Budapest to follow "the American model," according to The Associated Press.

TRUMP CALLS ANTIFA ‘TERRORIST GROUP,’ FUELING FIGHT OVER FREE SPEECH AND LIMITS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT

Szijjártó also referenced an incident in 2023 in which Antifa activists assaulted individuals who they believed to be part of a far-right event in Budapest, the AP.

The outlet noted that one of the alleged assailants was Italian Antifascist activist Ilaria Salis, who has since become a member of the European Parliament, giving her immunity from prosecution. Szijjártó told Fox News Digital it was a "shame" that Hungary could not take legal action against her.

"The European Parliament has proved again that it is a super over-ideologized and over-politicized body [ruled] by the extremist, liberal, very aggressive extremist liberal mainstream," he said.

While Hungary has called on the European Union to also declare Antifa a terrorist organization, Szijjártó told Fox News Digital that he has "less hope" that the EU will act.

EX-ANTIFA ACTIVIST PRAISES TRUMP’S DECISION TO LABEL GROUP DOMESTIC TERRORISTS

As Hungary faces challenges in Europe, it is seeing an improved relationship with the U.S., with Szijjártó hailing it as a "golden age."

"Under the Democrat administration, we Hungarians were considered as enemies. There was a very hostile approach by the Democrat administration," Szijjártó said, referring to former President Joe Biden's White House. "And since President Trump has been in office, this thing has totally, totally changed … We are basically experiencing the golden age of this U. S.-Hungary relationship."

Hungary also backs Trump’s call for greater NATO spending as the alliance faces renewed pressure over recent incursions into the airspace of Denmark, Estonia and Poland. Some of the incidents have been connected to Russia.

When speaking with Fox News Digital, Szijjártó emphasized Hungary’s view of NATO as "a very important pillar of European security."

ZELENSKYY SAYS TRUMP SHOWED HE WANTS TO SUPPORT UKRAINE ‘TO THE VERY END’

"We do hope that NATO will further strengthen in the future. We have agreed with the approach of President Trump arguing in favor of increasing the share of defense spending of the allies' GDPs," Szijjártó said.

Amid rising tensions between NATO and Russia, Hungary is uniquely aware of the dire risks of a confrontation between the two parties.

Hungary shares a border with Ukraine and has witnessed the impact of Kyiv’s war with Russia up close. Szijjártó cautioned that a showdown between NATO and Russia could spark World War III. However, Hungary sees Trump as a likely peacemaker in the region.

"President Trump is the only hope to make peace," Szijjártó told Fox News Digital. He went on to say that the U.S.-Russia talks must continue to get the world to a stable place.

"Whenever there is a civilized, high-level Russia-U.S. engagement, then the security situation of the world is improving. Whenever there is [a] lack of U.S.-Russia talks, then the global security situation deteriorates," Szijjártó said.

Chicago anti-ICE protesters block vehicles, get hit with tear gas and pepper balls

Federal law enforcement agents deployed pepper balls and tear gas Friday during a standoff with anti-U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protesters outside of Chicago.

The tense confrontation comes two days after a shooter opened fire at an ICE facility in Dallas, Texas. The gunman in that incident killed one detainee and injured two others before taking his own life, authorities said.

At least 50 protesters were seen midday Friday at an ICE processing center in Broadview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. An ICE spokesperson told Fox News that two were arrested, one of whom was carrying a firearm.

At one point, video showed federal law enforcement attempting to clear the protesters out of the area. The demonstrators were also seen trying to block vehicles from leaving.

TRUMP OFFICIALS SLAM BLUE STATE GOVERNOR FOR IGNORING CHAOTIC ANTI-ICE ‘RIOTERS’ DISRUPTING OPERATION

Last week, violent clashes between protesters and ICE agents at the facility led to 16 arrests.

In the demonstration, "rioters and sanctuary politicians obstructed law enforcement, threw tear gas cans, rocks, bottles, and fireworks, slashed tires of cars, blocked the entrance of the building, and trespassed on private property," the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said, adding that rioters also assaulted law enforcement officials.

The site is currently being used as the main processing center for Operation Midway Blitz.

DHS ‘BLITZES’ CHICAGOLAND, NETTING ‘MANY ARRESTS’ AS NOEM ONSITE FOR IMMIGRATION CRACKDOWN

"This ICE operation will target the criminal illegal aliens who flocked to Chicago and Illinois because they knew Governor [JB] Pritzker and his sanctuary policies would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets," the DHS said earlier this month.

The crowds protesting Friday are in opposition to the transfer of ICE detainees to out-of-state holding centers, according to Fox 32 Chicago.

Homeland Security wrote on X following the Dallas shooting that, "Sanctuary politicians have demonized federal law enforcement as the enemy — placing a target squarely on the backs of the brave men and women of ICE."

"Hateful anti-ICE rhetoric costs lives. Stop now, before these lies damage more innocent people," it added.

Virginia AG says Dem prosecutor's ‘weaponized incompetence’ ducked trans bathroom cases

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares released a 33-page report on Friday chronicling what he said were systemic violations of public policy and trust by Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano, including in a major case involving a sex offender who identified as transgender.

Descano, an elected Democrat, has been under fire for purportedly lax prosecutorial discretion, including in cases involving transgender people and most recently an abduction by a repeat offender at the Fair Oaks Mall near John Foster Dulles International Airport.

In that case, Caceres Jaldin allegedly scooped up a 3-year-old girl who got separated from her parents at the mall’s playground, before the guardians caught up with him on another floor of the complex.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin lambasted Fairfax officials and separately asked Miyares to investigate their handling of Jaldin, who had just been released from prison. Jaldin has been charged in 30 instances since 2016, according to local outlet FairfaxNow, which also reported Descano dropped two charges of "malicious wounding" last year.

SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOWS 26-YEAR-OLD MAN GRABBING TODDLER FROM MALL PLAY AREA BEFORE ARREST FOR ABDUCTION

Descano also faced criticism over Fairfax’s handling of a jogger’s rape on the W&OD Trail — a popular path linking Purcellville and Washington, D.C. — after the arrested suspect was revealed to have a lengthy history of sexual assaults and had recently been released from custody.

In 2022, the police chief in Herndon – where the alleged assault also occurred – told FOX-5 that Descano’s office downgraded a felony indictment to a misdemeanor in a case relating to the man allegedly choking one of their officers.

"Justice isn’t optional," Miyares, a Republican, said Friday. "And our laws are not suggestions."

"Fairfax Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano has betrayed the rule of law and the very people he swore to protect, turning prosecutorial discretion into deliberate, weaponized incompetence," said Miyares, who is running for reelection against former Del. Jerrauld "Jay" Jones, D-Norfolk.

Miyares said Descano took an oath to uphold the law and protect victims in Fairfax County — home to George Washington, George Mason, Richard Bland Lee and other historic figures.

VIRGINIA AG RELEASES FINDINGS OF INVESTIGATION INTO ROANOKE COLLEGE TRANS SWIMMER INCIDENT

In his report, Miyares took particular aim at Descano’s policy prohibiting enforcement of some mandatory minimum sentences for serious crimes, and relaxing or ignoring cash bail requirements for recidivists – and laid out several cases.

One case involved convicted sex offender Richard Cox, who recently identified as transgender in an indecent exposure case. Cox has had repeated run-ins with police in Arlington and Fairfax dating back to 1992, when Cox was charged with "indecent liberties with a child."

In 2006, Cox was barred from a public library after accessing the internet without authorization and lingering in the children’s section with a laptop. Police later seized a computer from the van Cox was living in and found a folder labeled "CP" that contained child pornography.

Fast-forward to Descano’s tenure: as Cox neared the end of probation in 2023, a probation officer warned Cox to continue following probation orders and avoid libraries, community centers and similar places.

Cox later cited "residence instability" in a dispute with the probation officer over compliance with sex offender registration requirements. Cox also told the officer that changing gender presentation could complicate supervision and create risks under probation rules.

In a subsequent court filing, Cox identified as transgender and accused the victim of "anti-trans discrimination."

Descano’s office then declined to participate in the prosecution and the indecent exposure charge was later dropped.

Miyares noted that the gym is located in the same building as a children’s indoor playground attraction, and that loitering within 100 feet of such a facility violates Cox’s terms.

While Cox was jailed in neighboring Arlington County, Miyares slammed Descano for failing to prosecute Cox in the proper jurisdiction and shared several quotations from local Democratic lawmakers questioning how the Cox case panned out.

"If my family was in a changing room, I wouldn't want them to be exposed to that kind of situation…And I think we have a duty to make sure that people aren't exposed to, especially on a regular basis, for God’s sake," said Virginia Senate Majority Leader Scott Surovell, D-Mount Vernon.

The overarching report alleged Descano "repeatedly commit[ed] Brady and discovery violations" – with Brady referring to requirements to present known exculpatory evidence to the defense – and engaged in "raw prosecutorial incompetence."

As for alleged violations of the state constitution, Miyares found that Descano may have violated Article I Section 8A, regarding denying crime victims all rights guaranteed in law.

Fox News Digital reached out to Descano’s office for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Charlie Kirk's accused assassin encountered by police during return to crime scene: law enforcement sources

EXCLUSIVE: OREM, Utah — Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of assassinating Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University earlier this month, "made contact" with a police officer near where investigators recovered the alleged murder weapon wrapped in a towel in the woods at the edge of campus, according to two law enforcement sources.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 10, roughly six hours after a sniper's bullet struck Kirk in the neck as he was engaging the audience during a speaking event sponsored by the UVU chapter of his organization in Orem, Utah.

The officer was guarding the perimeter after authorities placed the campus on lockdown, and the encounter appears to have thwarted the suspect's attempt to recover the Mauser .30-06 rifle prosecutors allege was used to kill Kirk.

CHARLIE KIRK’S ASSASSINATION LEAVES UNANSWERED QUESTIONS AS INVESTIGATORS PIECE TOGETHER GAPS IN CASE

Prosecutors released excerpts from a text message conversation they say Robinson had with his roommate and romantic partner, Lance Twiggs, that occurred at an unspecified time on the evening of Sept. 10, in which Robinson allegedly discussed wanting to retrieve a rifle before returning home from Orem, which is about a four-hour drive from where he lived in Washington County.

While law enforcement searched the area, Robinson texted Twiggs, telling him to "look under my keyboard," according to court documents.

The roommate found and photographed a note there that read, "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I'm going to take it." Authorities say Twiggs has cooperated with investigators.

In another message, Robinson allegedly wrote he was "stuck in Orem for a little while longer yet. Shouldn't be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. To be honest I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you."

"You weren't the one who did it right????" the roommate texted back.

"I am, I'm sorry," Robinson allegedly replied.

"No, they grabbed some crazy old dude, then interrogated someone in similar clothing," came another alleged reply from Robinson. "I had planned to grab my rifle from my drop point shortly after, but most of that side of town got locked down. Its (sic) quiet, almost enough to get out, but theres (sic) one vehicle lingering."

WHO IS TYLER ROBINSON? WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT CHARLIE KIRK'S SUSPECTED ASSASSIN

Later in the conversation, he allegedly reiterated that he was looking for a chance to grab the rifle: "There is a squad car parked right by it. I think they already swept that spot, but I don't wanna chance it."

Eventually, he allegedly wrote that, "I'm wishing I had circled back and grabbed it as soon as I got to my vehicle... I'm worried what my old man would do if I didn't bring back grandpas (sic) rifle."

Robinson eventually surrendered to authorities in his hometown in southern Utah 33 hours after the slaying, after his parents and a family friend convinced him to turn himself in rather than take his own life, according to authorities.

He faces charges including aggravated murder.

Trump administration to roll out earliest and most streamlined FAFSA form in history

EXCLUSIVE — The Trump administration has announced plans to roll out the earliest and most efficient Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in history for the 2026-2027 school year.

The FAFSA form is currently online, and applicants can finish the process in minutes, the administration said.

So far, more than 40,000 students have completed the new application.

A Department of Education spokesperson said the FAFSA process under the Biden administration could take more than three days to complete. The Trump administration has made streamlining the form a priority, calling it a correction to what it described as the previous administration’s botched rollout.

TRUMP ADMIN TO MAKE HISTORIC INVESTMENT IN CHARTER SCHOOLS AMID NATIONWIDE DECLINE IN PUBLIC SCHOOL ENROLLMENT

"After years of mismanagement under the previous administration’s leadership, the Trump administration prioritized accessibility and technical expertise to deliver the form for American students and families at a historic pace," the Department of Education said.

The Trump administration’s implementation of the new FAFSA process followed a beta model that launched on Aug. 3. After several test runs across the country, the department determined the form was ready to go live Tuesday.

User feedback showed that 97% of respondents reported satisfaction with the FAFSA form and 90% said it took a reasonable amount of time to complete.

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION RELEASES OVER $6B IN FROZEN EDUCATION FUNDS TO THE STATES

Education Secretary Linda McMahon said no one thought making the FAFSA form easier to do and launching earlier than usual was achievable.

"I am extremely proud to announce the earliest launch of the FAFSA form in history, which ensures American students and families have access to critical resources as they begin or continue their postsecondary education journey," McMahon said.

"No one would have thought this was possible after the Biden administration infamously botched FAFSA’s rollout two short years ago. Under President Trump’s leadership, our talented team has redesigned and streamlined the process, so all American students can now successfully complete the form in minutes."

In December 2020, Congress passed the bipartisan FAFSA Simplification Act and FUTURE Act to streamline the federal student aid application process for students.

Since the Trump administration’s first-term efforts in 2020, it has advanced the initiative further.

TRUMP DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ROLLS OUT LATEST STEP TO EXPAND SCHOOL CHOICE NATIONWIDE

Despite efforts to streamline the FAFSA process, students last year were left waiting for months to know how much they would receive in financial aid. The delays left seniors unsure of aid decisions, forcing many colleges to push back priority admissions deadlines.

In March, the administration announced an improvement in FAFSA applications submitted and processed compared to results under the Biden administration.

It touted that more than 8 million FAFSA forms were successfully submitted and processed, a 50% increase over the number of applications submitted in spring last year.

A spokesperson for former President Joe Biden did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Kamala Harris rejects idea that bungled 'View' interview was tipping point in campaign

Former Vice President Kamala Harris addressed her bungled answer from a 2024 interview on "The View" during Tuesday's edition of the ABC talk show about her new book, "107 Days."

"The book is about a reflection, and that day and that interview for me, really was symbolic of the issue," Harris said, telling the co-hosts she thought the differences between her and former President Joe Biden were "obvious."

Co-host Sunny Hostin asked Harris during the October 2024 interview if there was anything she would have done differently from Biden throughout their term together. Harris responded at the time, "Not a thing comes to mind," which appeared to cement the perception that she wasn’t a change candidate."

Hostin pressed Harris again Tuesday, asking about her differences with Biden. The former VP admitted she knew her close ties to the president would become an issue.

KAMALA HARRIS AIDE URGED 'THE VIEW' HOSTS TO ASK AGAIN AFTER VP FLUBBED QUESTION ON DIFFERENCES WITH BIDEN

"In the moment, I knew," Hostin told Harris, referencing her question posed to the former vice president. "The Trump campaign weaponized your answer against you, my question, and some, including James Carville and Jake Tapper, point to that answer as a turning point in your candidacy."

Hostin asked Harris if she believed the moment tipped the election.

"No, no," Harris said as co-host Joy Behar chimed in, "Good, because Sunny doesn't want to take the blame."

Harris said during the interview that she didn't fully appreciate how significant an issue her closeness to Biden was during the election cycle. She believed during the campaign she often pointed out the differences between her and Biden without seeming disloyal.

KAMALA HARRIS BREAKS SILENCE ON BIDEN DROPOUT, ADMITS SHE HAS REGRETS ABOUT HER HANDLING OF SITUATION

Hostin added, "That President Biden was deeply unpopular, I did realize that."

Her response to Hostin's question at the time went viral for the wrong reasons. It appeared in ads for President Donald Trump and was widely viewed as a damaging moment for her candidacy

The former vice president also addressed the moment in her book and wrote she had no idea she "pulled the pin on a hand grenade" in her answer to Hostin's question.

"Stationed at various places around the set, my staff were beside themselves. Political operatives have an eye to see a moment, and I could kick myself for giving the other side that moment. During the commercial break, while I was having a bit of fun with some young students I’d noticed in the audience who were obviously playing hooky, offering to write notes to their teachers after the show, Opal [Vadhan] passed me a note from our team, telling me to return to that question and mention that a big difference would be that I would put a Republican in my cabinet," she wrote.

However, Harris acknowledged the damage had already been done.

ICE recaptures illegal immigrants who escaped after allegedly choking Border Patrol agent

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) captured two illegal immigrants who escaped custody after allegedly choking a female Border Patrol agent.

Juan Carmen Pardon Mendez, 29, and Juan Carlos Padron Barron, 23, both from Mexico, have been "taken back into custody and will be criminally prosecuted to the fullest extent allowed under the law," according to ICE’s Houston office.

ICE said both men "escaped from custody on Sept. 22 in Conroe, Texas, after one of them was able to get out of [his] restraints and choked a female Border Patrol agent who was transferring them to the Montgomery Processing Center."

"It is sickening that another law enforcement officer has been needlessly harmed as a direct result of the continued demonization of legitimate law enforcement activities by political leaders and certain members of the media," ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations acting Field Office Director Gabriel Martinez said in a statement.

MASSIVE ICE OPERATION NETS GANG MEMBERS, MURDERERS, CHILD PREDATORS: 'WREAKED HAVOC'

"Every time they label the brave men and women who work for ICE, CBP, or Border Patrol as Nazis or bounty hunters, they might as well paint a bright target on their backs because attacks like this are inevitable and will continue to occur," he added.

Both suspects were captured Tuesday with help from law enforcement partners, ICE said.

HOMELAND SECURITY RELEASES POKEMON-THEMED VIDEO TO HIGHLIGHT IMMIGRATION ARRESTS

They initially were detained "during an ICE-led multi-agency enforcement operation targeting violent criminal aliens and egregious immigration offenders near Spring, Texas," according to the agency.

"Padron Barron has illegally entered the U.S. at least three times and was previously expelled on Dec. 13, 2022, and Jan. 1, 2023," ICE also said. "This is the first time that U.S. immigration officials have encountered Padron Mendez."

ICE added that the operations that resulted in the initial arrests of both men "are part of the current administration’s focus on restoring public safety by targeting the ‘worst of the worst’ illegal aliens and have resulted in historic numbers of transnational gang members and dangerous child predators being removed from local communities throughout Southeast Texas."

Sarah Ferguson dropped by multiple charities after calling Jeffrey Epstein 'generous and supreme friend'

Prince Andrew's ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, has been dropped as a patron for multiple charities after leaked emails revealed the Duchess of York referring to Jeffrey Epstein as a "steadfast, generous and supreme friend."

"Following the information shared this weekend on the Duchess of York's correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, Julia's House has taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue as a patron of the charity," a spokesperson for Julia's House, a children's hospice organization, said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "We have advised the Duchess of York of this decision and thank her for her past support."

According to the Associated Press, Ferguson has also been dropped by the Teenage Cancer Trust and Natasha Allergy Research Foundation. The Prevent Breast Cancer also announced they had dropped the duchess as patron.

PRINCE ANDREW, JEFFREY EPSTEIN’S FRIENDSHIP FUELED BY ‘MONEY AND SEX’: AUTHOR

The British Heart Foundation also dropped the duchess as the charity's ambassador, according to the BBC. The Children's Literacy Charity cut ties with Ferguson as well, the outlet reported.

A representative for Ferguson did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess of York — who divorced Prince Andrew in 1996 — reached out to Epstein in 2011 after publicly denouncing their friendship during an interview with the Evening Standard.

During the interview, Fergusson expressed her "deep regret" and promised to "have nothing ever to do with Jeffrey Epstein ever again," three years after he had been imprisoned for soliciting prostitution from a minor.

In an alleged email to Epstein following the interview, Ferguson referred to the disgraced sex offender as a "steadfast, generous and supreme friend."

"I know you feel hellaciously let down by me from what you were either told or read and I must humbly apologise to you and your heart for that," Ferguson allegedly wrote.

"I was advised, in no uncertain terms, to have nothing to do with you and to not speak or email you and if I did I would cause more problems to you, [Prince Andrew] and myself," she continued. "I was instructed to act with the utmost speed if I would have any chance of holding on to my career as a children’s book author and a children’s philanthropist."

In a statement to The Guardian, a representative for Ferguson said she stood by her public condemnation of Epstein.

"Like many people, she was taken in by [Epstein’s] lies. As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly, to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with pedophilia," the statement read. "She does not resile from anything she said then. This email was sent in the context of advice the duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats."

Epstein was found dead in his New York jail cell weeks after his 2019 arrest. The American financier was awaiting trial on U.S. federal sex trafficking charges involving dozens of teenage girls and young women, some as young as 14. Investigators ruled his death a suicide.

Epstein's former girlfriend, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted in 2021 for helping lure teenage girls to be sexually abused by him. She is serving a 20-year prison sentence.

Ferguson, who remained friends with Prince Andrew after their public divorce, stood by her ex-husband as he faced sexual assault allegations amid his association with Epstein.

Buckingham Palace stripped Andrew of his military affiliations and royal patronages in January 2022.

Rabbi honors Charlie Kirk's enduring legacy of defending Israel 'with clarity and courage'

An American rabbi is pointing out that Charlie Kirk's impact will last far beyond his commitment to the Christian faith — and notes that Kirk "defended Israel with clarity and courage."

Rabbi Pinchas Taylor of the American Faith Coalition, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, told Fox News Digital, "Charlie Kirk was far more than a political commentator. He was a man of deep and unapologetic faith who lived every day guided by conviction and compassion — and in doing so, he made America a better country."

Pinchas added that Kirk "loved his family fiercely, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the Jewish people, and defended Israel with clarity and courage."

LIVE UPDATES: MEMORIAL SERVICES FOR CHARLIE KIRK

At a time when antisemitism in this country "too often rears its head," added Pinchas, "Charlie’s loyalty and friendship reminded Jews everywhere that they were not alone."

The rabbi's comments come as more than 100,000 are said to be attending the memorial service at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday to honor Kirk's legacy.

The rabbi pointed out that Kirk, "even within his own political circles, where extremes and conspiracies threatened to hijack the conversation, he was a voice of sanity, reason and principle."

CHARLIE KIRK REMEMBERED AS FRIEND OF ISRAEL, ALLIES SLAM CONSPIRACY THEORIES

He added, "He did not run from disagreement. He welcomed it — knowing that real growth comes when we learn to listen, debate and engage with dignity."

Pinchas said that Charlie Kirk, who was only 31 at the time of his death, "also understood something at the very heart of this nation. He knew that America’s greatness rests on the values of the Hebrew Bible, the shared Judeo-Christian tradition that teaches us about justice, freedom, and the divine image within every human being."

The rabbi added, "His life was a testimony to the power of living by faith and building bridges across communities."

He said that while "we mourn his loss, we also carry forward his message. If America can return to living by those God-centered values, our nation will not only endure — it will rise higher, shine brighter, and become stronger together."

Among the speakers at Sunday's memorial service in Glendale are President Donald J. Trump and Erika Kirk, widow of Charlie Kirk.

Man detained at Kirk memorial site was allegedly found with gun, knife and expired credentials inside stadium

Arizona officials announced charges Saturday against the man the Secret Service allegedly caught carrying a gun and a knife inside State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Friday.

The stadium is where Charlie Kirk’s memorial event is set to take place Sunday. Joshua Runkles was identified Saturday by the Arizona Department of Public Safety as the armed individual. He was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer – a felony – and carrying a weapon into a prohibited place, which is a misdemeanor.

Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi previously said the man was detained "in the stadium, but it was prior to the setup of any secure perimeter."

The individual allegedly told Secret Service agents that he was at the site to provide private security, The Washington Post also reported, citing a law enforcement official familiar with the matter.

A federal source familiar with the investigation told Fox News that the man is a former law enforcement member from another state.

"He came and identified himself with expired credentials. They are going through his background and trying to figure out what he was up to there," the federal source added.

Guglielmi said to Fox News Digital: "The U.S. Secret Service in coordination with local law enforcement in Glendale, Arizona, is investigating an individual who was observed exhibiting suspicious behavior at State Farm Stadium."

"The individual was approached by Secret Service and stated during the encounter that he was a member of law enforcement and that he was armed. The individual is not a member of authorized law enforcement working the event and is currently in custody," Guglielmi added.

CHARLIE KIRK'S MEMORIAL: WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE EVENT IN ARIZONA

The development comes as police are expecting approximately 100,000 people to attend Kirk’s memorial service at State Farm Stadium and an overflow arena on Sunday, Sept. 21, according to media reports.

State Farm Stadium has fixed seating for 63,400 and can expand to over 73,000 for larger events, according to the venue.

The Department of Homeland Security also designated the memorial service as a "Special Event Assessment Rating Level 1," which is "reserved for events of the highest national significance" and the same severity as the Super Bowl.

Erika Kirk, who is Charlie Kirk’s widow, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are among those set to speak at the event.

DAVID MARCUS: Jimmy Kimmel is on the fast train to Keith Olbermann-style oblivion

If Jimmy Kimmel is curious about what his future holds, he should consider the fate of another obstinate jerk who insisted on insulting half the country during his television heyday: Keith Olbermann.

Kimmel is in hot water, and out of a job for now, because he clearly intimated that the alleged murderer of Charlie Kirk was a pro-MAGA conservative, a disgusting lie that not only insults conservative Americans, but insinuates that Kirk's murder was in some way his own fault.

HOLDING ABC'S JIMMY KIMMEL ACCOUNTABLE ISN'T 'CANCEL CULTURE' — IT'S BASIC FAIRNESS

Much to the chagrin of Democrats, it now turns out that Kimmel wasn’t suspended owing to any supposed threats from Federal Communications Chairman Brendan Carr, but rather because when his bosses at ABC told him to apologize for lying on air, he flatly refused.

Kimmel's pride and abject hatred of President Donald Trump and his MAGA movement are clearly more important to him than respecting his audience, much less keeping his estimated $15 million salary. And that is where the Keith Olbermann cautionary tale comes in.

Olbermann was once a beloved sportscaster who decided to switch to doing news commentary on MSNBC. It worked for a while, but at some point his unrelenting bitterness and sarcasm turned off the viewers, and that turned off the folks who signed his paycheck. Now, Olbermann posts unhinged social media screeds that are so full of vitriol you want to send a wellness check over to his Central Park pad.

This is basically what Jimmy Kimmel has turned his one-time comedy show into. It is little more than an extended anti-Trump TV ad. His audience rarely laughs, but dutifully claps at his statements. They are really applauding themselves, for being good anti-Trump people.

Kimmel’s schtick at this point, if you can even call it that, has turned into being a one-note, Trump-hating angry clown. And now that his show has been pulled, he has become something even more pathetic, a sad clown. Operas have been written about such characters.

Like Olbermann, Kimmel is now very disappointed and depressed about the fact that, by insulting half the country, he lost his gig. Apparently, it is those of us who make up that half that he is so disappointed in.

Kimmel should take some time and check out the X feed of Olbermann, who is now arguably the most pathetic poster on the platform. Is this really where Kimmel wants his career to land, as a bitter old man screaming at clouds?

How hard would it be for Kimmel to do his show on Monday and just say, "Hey, I made it look like I was saying Charlie Kirk’s assassin was pro-MAGA. That’s my bad. I worded it poorly and I apologize?"

That is probably all it would take for him to get his job back, even if he continued to use it as an anti-Trump platform. But for Kimmel and his ilk, attacking Trump is worth it even though it does Trump no harm.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINION

Obsession is a dangerous thing, especially, it seems, when it comes to Trump. Look at Liz Cheney, who threw away being the third most powerful Republican in the House of Representatives, and for what? To publicly insult Trump and his voters? Why?

Like Olbermann, Cheney could still be an important voice in our discourse if only she could have shown the slightest bit of respect for the millions of voters who put Trump in office.

It may not be too late for Kimmel to turn this disaster around, and honestly, it could be very good for the country if he did. It might help to give permission to his most loyal and liberal fans to take it easy on their Republican friends and family. To remember we are all Americans.

Unfortunately, Kimmel is getting bad advice from the people in his industry who are rallying around him as if he is a martyr. This is all the more galling because Charlie Kirk, the object of his mirth and scorn, actually was martyred, for real.

Just apologize Jimmy. Don’t fall into oblivion by becoming the next Keith Olbermann. Just apologize, otherwise the only joke left to tell will be:

Knock, knock.

Who's there?

Not Jimmy Kimmel.

Trump announces meeting with Xi Jinping at South Korea APEC summit scheduled for next month

President Donald Trump on Friday said he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea next month following a "very productive" phone call.

The meeting will take place during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. The face-to-face meeting will be the first between the two leaders during Trump’s second term in the White House.

Trump said he also agreed to travel to China in early 2026 and that Xi agreed to come to the United States "at an appropriate time."

The president said Friday that he spoke with Xi about a range of issues, including trade, the war in Ukraine and a deal to approve the sale of TikTok.

"I also agreed with President Xi that we would meet at the APEC Summit in South Korea, that I would go to China in the early part of next year, and that President Xi would likewise come to the United States at an appropriate time," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. "The call was a very good one, we will be speaking again by phone, and we appreciate the TikTok approval. Both [sides] look forward to meeting at APEC!"

Separately, Chinese state media said the two leaders held "pragmatic, positive, and constructive phone talks."

On the Chinese side, Xi told Trump that he should avoid imposing "unilateral trade restrictions" on China, according to a statement from the country’s foreign ministry.

China has been a major target for Trump’s tariffs, resulting in back-and-forth trade restrictions over the flow of fentanyl into the United States.

Xi also expressed hope that the Trump administration would provide an "open, fair, and non-discriminatory business environment" for Chinese companies in the U.S.

Regarding TikTok, the ministry said: "The Chinese government respects the wishes of the company in question and would be happy to see productive commercial negotiations in keeping with market rules lead to a solution that complies with China’s laws and regulations and takes into account the interests of both sides."

WWE star Jimmy Uso has singles championship dreams, expresses excitement for 1st baby with Naomi

Jimmy Uso may be one half of one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history, but there are still things he wants to accomplish in his career before he hangs up the boots for good.

Uso, 40, spoke to Fox News Digital before he teams with his twin brother, Jey, to compete against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in a big match at Wrestlepalooza this weekend. The bout will be the first EMF-free match in WWE history.

He was asked what he’d like to accomplish with WrestleMania 42 presumably about seven months away.

"I would love to have a singles title, just to say that I’ve done it. I’ve been in tag team, still in tag team," he said. "Even when my brother went to Raw, I went with Solo (Sikoa). We tagged together and I kinda just stayed with them. I’ve always been in the tag-team scene with anybody, with everybody, especially lately, especially after me any brother split brands. That would definitely be a bucket list for me just to say I’ve held a singles championship."

Uso has only been a tag-team champion during his entire career in WWE albeit eight times.

He also mentioned that by WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas he would be welcoming his first child with his wife, Trinity Fatu, who is known in the pro wrestling world as Naomi. She announced she was pregnant last month and had to relinquish her championship in the process.

Uso told Fox News Digital he was looking forward to that as well.

"By WrestleMania, our baby should be here. So, that’s another thing I’m excited about. The world is a lot more different to me these last months," he said. "With my wife, with the big announcement and where were are today, how life really changed in the blink of an eye for us and our family.

"So, by April, I’d love to have a singles run, if not, it’s all love. But my favorite part is ‘Mania because I know our little, whatever we’re having, he or she will be here and I’m excited. This ‘Mania is going to be very exciting for me."

Suspect in shooting of 3 Pennsylvania officers was being sought on stalking, trespassing charges: report

The suspect in Pennsylvania who allegedly shot and killed three police officers and wounded two more was being sought on stalking and trespassing charges, a report said.

Matthew James Ruth was identified by The Associated Press as the suspect who allegedly opened fire Wednesday at a farm in rural York County before being killed by police. The news agency cited a law enforcement official on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the ongoing investigation.

The violence erupted after Ruth, 24, was charged with stalking, trespassing, loitering and prowling at night in a domestic-related investigation that began a day earlier, court documents show.

The two wounded officers were taken to a hospital and remain in critical but stable condition, according to officials. York County District Attorney Tim Barker and the Pennsylvania State Police are expected to provide a further update on the case at 3 p.m. Thursday.

5 POLICE OFFICERS SHOT, 3 DEAD IN PENNSYLVANIA, FBI INVESTIGATING

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said during a news conference Wednesday he is continuing to pray for everyone involved.

"This is an absolutely tragic and devastating day for your county and for the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania," Shapiro said. "[We] grieve for the loss of life of the three precious souls who served this county, served this commonwealth and served this country. We continue to pray for the full recovery of those who are dealing with their wounds."

The FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Pennsylvania State Police are assisting local authorities.

The shooting came just a few months after another York County officer was killed in the line of duty.

Shapiro said Attorney General Pam Bondi reached out to him directly and said the state has the full support of the federal government.

Bondi condemned the violence in an X post, saying violence against law enforcement is "a scourge on our society and never acceptable."

The confrontation unfolded on a rural road in south-central Pennsylvania, not far from Maryland. Neighbor Dirk Anderson told the AP he heard "quite a few" shots from his home across the street and wondered what was happening. Then he saw a helicopter and police arrive.

Some 30 police vehicles blocked off roads bordered by a barn, a goat farm and soybean and corn fields. The area, North Codorus Township, sits about 115 miles west of Philadelphia.
